The library is very nice. Love the kids section. This is what the 2 stars are for. It is IMPOSSIBLE to find an ACTUAL quiet place to study.
The public quiet room has people that go in it on their phones watching videos and although they have head phones they continue to chuckle and mumble while they are watching whatever it is they are watching. People talk to you in there. I've complained a few times but I'm started to feel like they just think I'm picky and ignore me. The private locked Study rooms have proven to be even worse. EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. I have used these room either people use them for their calls on speaker phone (and shout into the speaker) or they are with a friend and proceed to be loud, laugh, etc. The walls offer NO sound proofing. When I asked the librarian taking me to a room about it she said it was normal for people to use the rooms for studying and work so sometimes it gets loud. The person in the room next to me is currently talking about wallets, when they were growing up, and credits cards with a friend. Why can't you have this conversation somewhere that isn't supposed to be a quiet place? Panera, Starbucks, ANYWHERE ELSE? One time the girls in the room next to me were having a laughing fit and when the librarian came to tell me my 2 hours was up, it didn't even phase her how loud they were being.
What happened to the library being a quiet place? I have 4 kids and I only get 2 hours, 2 days a week to come here and hope for silence so I can concentrate and study and every time it proves to be a failure and librarians don't seem to care. Has the intentions of a library changed? This is the closest library to come to so I have more time to study and I'm about to just start studying in my...
Read moreBeautiful building inside and out. Helpful staff everywhere. If the staff at the front desk isn't helping someone that will always say hello/goodbye. Like I said, the inside setup is great and very clean. My only complaint is the setup they have for the computers library members can use. It's the total opposite of secluded, in the middle of the library. Everyone walking by can see, people can be in a room behind you starting at your screen. So if you're doing any banking, secure websites, personal information, you need to watch your back... For example I had to print some stuff from the social security website. It's a high traffic area where the computers are, anyone walking by could view my personal info, someone could have been in a "study" room 8 feet behind watching etc.... Other than that the plane is phenomenal! One of the few things Cuyahoga...
Read moreThe library should be a more respectful and quiet place. It is always noisy, people are always on their cell phones, even in areas where it is suppose to be quiet. If you are on a computer you can hear kids screaming way at the other end of the library or people will be talking loud on the cell phone right next to you and you can hear both ends of their conversation. Why not put up signs that say quiet in the library and no cell phone use.The expectations should be that the library is a quiet and respectful place. For the most part the staff is very helpful and courteous but sometimes they are even loud. It would just be nice to spend time in the library where the noise levels are low as they should . be. The programs offered are very nice and a...
