We were invited to the Yard House for dinner with the family. This was my first time at the Yard House and loved the decor and setup.
There was plenty of parking available because they had a couple of parking garages within blocks of each other on the main.
We walked into the Yard House and the restaurant was huge. In the middle of the restaurant was a big, bar that looked like it had over a hundred taps. With that being said, they have a full bar with many variety of YH cocktails and wine. The bar was spacious enough to actually eat at the bar. At night, you could see the restaurant would be perfectly set for a gathering with some pals. I loved all of the TV screens with my favorite sports playing - hockey, golf and baseball.
We had a party of six and the booths were huge! There was plenty of elbow room for each person. You can probably fit eight comfortably or even ten people. The lighting throughout the restaurant is dim and can be intimate at night. We definitely want to return for a nice romantic dinner. They had great music playing but we were just happy to be able to watch hockey, golf and baseball from all different angles. You have a great view of the TVs. They're posted above and around the bar so you had a great view no matter where you were sitting in the restaurant.
The staff was very pleasant, attentive and friendly when we walked in. There was no wait for as huge as this restaurant was and if so, I'm sure we'd be able to have a drink at the bar while we waited. Our server was Andrew and he was awesome from the time we arrived until the time we left. Super attentive, knowledgeable and had great suggestions. At every table, they had table-side, POS devices so you can order and pay at the table. The devices had their entire menu uploaded in them along with photos. I loved that! That is super handy to have when the restaurant is in the weeds, your server is making their rounds and you have questions. We had a wonderful time with Andrew. Our drink needs were always met! He always had a smile, too.
We started off with their Hawaiian Mule and a crisp House Belgium Golden beer. Then we ordered the Crispy Brussel Sprouts and the Calamari. Great portions to pricing ratio. Very communal dining. The Calamari was soft, lightly crispy and succulent. Their marinara and the white dipping sauce, which seemed horseradish based, was delicious. It was hard to not fill up on both!
The brussel sprouts had a roasted garlic taste with an Asian glaze. Because I ate most of the appetizers, I ordered a light dinner entree - the Whiskey Glazed Salmon and the Mister had a Carnivore Pizza. My salmon was juicy and cooked just right. It came with Parmesan mashed potatoes and a side of roasted broccoli rabe and carrots. Just perfect! The Mister's pizza had a light crust and was East Coast style - thin but you can fold it and have no problem losing toppings because it's not soggy. The dough was super soft and the crust had that breadstick texture so you won't be cracking any teeth.
Presentation was awesome for the Onion Ring Tower. Tower is the perfect word for these o-rings. They literally were stacked high like a giant Fisher Price Rock-a-Stack toddler toy so they were easy to pass around. Everything we ordered always had awesome dipping sauces with it. Man, I really like this place. Their jumbo wings came with celery sticks and a ramekin of ranch which tasted homemade.
The Yard House would be perfect for drinks and munchies with the crew and I literally wanted everything on their Appetizer menu. Next time, I'm just going to order the Calamari or the Blackened Ahi Tuna Sashimi as my entree! LOL The In-laws said the Wisconsin Cheese Curds are the best here.
You won't go wrong at the Yard House because they'll have something for everyone!
If you're looking for a place to just eat solo, have a romantic dinner date or hang with your friends, this is the place to be.

Read morePasadena! Need a beer. This is your place. Plenty to choose from with great service, and a great atmosphere! Parking may be an issue. You need to have your parking validated by the restaurant or something in order to park for longer than 30 minutes. Not exactly sure about the parking since I walked here from the Westin.
Anyway this review is about the food and the staff. Danny waited on us and despite tying up his table for 2 hours, he was gracious and polite. The pretzel with beer cheese dip was large salted perfectly, chewy, and warm. The beer cheese that came with it was a little runny and had a heavy beer taste with not enough cheese taste. (may be personal preference) The deep fried calamari was good but unremarkable. The Nacho chips with beef and cheese sauce was delicious! It came with several flour tortillas and we made some quesadillas out of them. Yum! I ordered the house cheese steak sandwich. You can skip that one. It was nothing like a Philly Cheese steak like I was expecting. The meat had food flavor, but with the wrong kind of cheese, no mayonnaise or fried onions and green peppers, the sandwich lacked flavor and was dry. I needed to wash it down with some iced tea. The tea was really brewed, which if you read my reviews is a must for iced tea, but only comes unsweetened. I like how the kitchen has an open concept and you can see the workers preparing food. The chairs were comfortable and strong and the tables were solid wood. The drinks are served in thick glass completing the feel of quality. A huge plus for me was when I saw the staff clean the tables with spray and a clean cloth. And they even sprayed and cleaned the seats!!!!! Finally a restaurant that gets it!
The restrooms smelled clean and was clean and offered paper towels for drying. A Huge plus for that! Unfortunately, the sensors on the sinks didn't work very well as 2 out of 3 didn't work at all. Overall, the great service, the good tasting food (minus the cheese steak) and the cleanliness made for an overall pleasant...
Read moreOktober Deals with Steins is a total SCAM. So I was at yardhouse pasadena today, Sept 28th at 5pm. I was told that I can purchase a Stein for 19.95. Okay.. All I wanted was beer. Then I don't know how this happened but was suckers to by the actual mug for $15 to take home. I didn't understand that. I got a $5 card to "refill" the stein. Again. All I wanted was a beer. Anyway, my wife paid the tab and told me that we bought the stein glass for $15.00 and the $5 refill was provided. I simply wanted to leave as I had some work to do.. Okay - Got home, did my zoom meeting and this $1.25 glass from china is staring at me. I ask her what the deal terms were.. And I was absolutely, horrifically, insanely stupid-fied. I had to actually call pasadena yardhouse to clarify this. Here's how stupid this Oktober Stein deal is. You buy a Steib beer for $19.95. No issue. You pay $15 for a Stein glass (yikes). You are given a $5 refill card. You have to come back to pasadena yardhouse with the old, dirty Stein glass to yardhouse in october to get it refilled and redeem the card by paying $5. Points. 1. Who's going to carry a stein in their car. 2. sanitation of the stein. 3. I have to redeem in october when i visit yardhouse 4 times a year. 4. I get zero value as I am paying $15 for the glass and$5 for the refill card - total of $20 of which is the price of a stein with beer with no glass 5. glass is from china for $1.25. A TOTAL SCAM. WHO DID THE NUMBERS ON THIS DEAL. YOU WILL THINK THERE IS SOME MARKETING GENIUS BEHIND THIS. THE GLASS ACTUALLY HAS LOGO AFFIXED TO IT. NOTHING SPECIAL. THIS WAS AN ABSOLUTE SCAM. All I wanted was a stein with beer. My wife was disturbed at the end and was upset with my decision. I didn't understand till I finished my meeting and confirmed with pasadena yardhouse. DON"T BUY! Worse off - I was at pasadena on a friday with blackout happening a month ago when the heat wave hit. Bad JUJU for sure.! Why go back again....
