California Pizza Kitchen at Pasadena — Restaurant in Pasadena

We have enjoyed this place over the last year or so living in Pasadena, until tonight. We ordered a large Caesar salad and added sauteed salmon. The addition of salmon is $6.25. Having eaten Caesar salad in many restaurants where you can add on salmon, fish, chicken, etc. $6 to $8 for a small filet seems the normal. When we pick the salad up and brought it to the car, we opened it and looked and were surprised to find small salmon pieces that almost didn't look like salmon and so my husband proceeded to take it back into the restaurant to ask about it. The girl who helped him seemed surprised that he was expecting a small fillet of salmon for the $6.25 that we paid. She also wasn't very helpful as far as accommodating or trying to make it right when the salmon was sparse and looked honestly like it was cooked three or four times. We took it home and gave it a go and unfortunately it wasn't very good. The salad itself was limp like it had been sitting around and the small portion of salmon will just call them, "nuggets" were hard over seasoned and way overcooked. The hostess at the front was sure to let my husband know that if he wanted an actual fillet of salmon he could do so for $15. But unfortunately, when you're ordering online, the menu doesn't reflect that as an option, so there's no way to know that. Great location for dining indoor and outdoor. Spacious dining area and a nice patio setting overlooking Pasadena City Hall.

Food are just as good as the CPK in Arcadia where we normally dine. This location is right across the street from our church. It’s a perfect venue for us to catch up with church friends after the service.

Lunch combos are perfect for such occasion. With either a pizza or pasta to go with a soup or salad provide the right amount of food and varieties to satisfy all cravings.

I normally order an original BBQ chicken pizza to go with a Mediterranean salad. The pizza is a 7” size that would feed one person and the salad is a one person amount as well. The pasta selections include spaghetti or linguine with chicken or shrimp with extra charges. For $12.99 with such combo, it’s a good value for the money.

For those of you prefer outdoor dining, this CPK has the perfect patio dining setup. With the fountain next to the outdoor area, dinner can enjoy the running water sound along with the view of the City Hall, making conversation with friends much more pleasant.

Walked here so we didn’t have to worry about parking. Outside dining looks lovely but it was way too hot!

We were seated pretty fast and got a nice seat by the window! It felt funny looking out at the USC Pacific Asia Museum while eating Italian food, haha!

The bread and olive oil combo was yummy, always love a fresh warm bread!

Couldn’t decide between the Mexican Street Corn and the other corn dish but the waiter shared his personal fav and so we went with the Mexican Street Corn and I HIGHLY recommend it!!! It was amazingly delicious and will leave you wanting to lick your plate clean!!

Ordered the sangria flight and it was so good! Also tried another drink that I can’t remember the name but it wasn’t as good (maybe the pacific drink but it was alcoholic. Had passionfruit and pineapple).

We got the pepperoni pizza and it was so delish!!

They have all sorts of summer deals going on (kids eat free at certain times and you can order frozen pizza for $8 to take back if you order another pizza for your first meal. Check the website)!
