McDonald's — Restaurant in Paso Robles

Very disappointed. Went through the drive thru right at midnight. Ordered two orders of two chicken strips and a soda. I know exactly what time it was because I thought they were actually closed but they weren't. Nobody behind me but yet they still wanted me to go park and they would bring my order out to me. It's now 12:03. I asked them why, there is nobody behind me? I asked is it so it stops your drive thru timer? Yes I know, I used to work there when I was 15 years old! So after putting my money away and finishing situating my drink I park at sp 1 and wait. I'm now looking at my clock and it is 12:06. At 12:16 I'm standing at the door with my hands in the air cause the door is locked. The shift leader or manager or whatever she was brings me my food. I asked her what the hold up was that it's been 16 minutes since I ordered chicken that only takes 4 minutes to cook. She tells me I'm wrong that it's only been 6 minutes. I said no you are wrong. I had her pull my receipt to check the time and according to her watch yea 6 minutes but her watch was not the same as the register. Normally I wouldn't care but seriously I'm the only one there.... 16 minutes? I will refuse to...

They tried to win over on a woman who saw the employee just cleaning and then trying to hand the lady her cup. The whole restaurant is dirty, and when I did see it being cleaned, it was barely even spot swept. The food was absolutely nowhere near being as appetizing as literally every other Mcdonald I've ever been to. Our food was cold, and it didn't taste like any decent burger I've had at any McDonald's. After the woman had said something about her cup being contaminated with cleaning solution from the unwashed hands of the employee, they had proceeded to argue with her in which the employee only used hand sanitizer instead of washing the chemicals from her hands. This led to the employee speaking in Spanish about the woman in a very unprofessional manner. There was never anyone at the counter until 2 minutes after each customer arrived. If you weren't able to peak into the side behind the pick-up area, it would almost seem as if the establishment had been left unattended. I was appalled at what I witnessed in the short time that I was there as the employees laughed off their unprofessional, unsanitary...

On our way back home, we wanted to leave early so that we can avoid the early morning and late evening commute traffic in the Bay Area.

In keeping with that, we decided to have a quick breakfast at the McDonald's just before we took the onramp on to HWY101 from Paso Robles. We were a little worried as it was connected to a Gas Station and had an adjoining grab n go store - all painting a rather grim picture of the food, drinks, and service that we could expect.

BUT, we were pleasantly surprised! The establishment was spotlessly clean and we got to order via a touchscreen far away from the counter and in fact we were so impressed when our breakfast was served quickly, piping hot and without any fuss at our table where we were seated. We ordered the regular breakfast items with Coffee and all items were served easily without any issues.

We were in and out within 10 minutes, and we could see other customers come in as well and get served quickly.
