Oasis Diner — Restaurant in Passaic

Visited on 3/22/24 between 1:00-2:00 PM. I walked there since it’s just a 10-minute walk from my house. The diner is located at 510 Main Ave, Passaic, NJ. While parking can be tricky, there's public parking across the street, but it can get crowded.

I’ve been coming here since I was a kid, and the owners have always been so kind and welcoming. The staff, many of whom are Hispanic, make this place feel warm and homey. My server, Maria, was sweet and attentive, even offering to box up our leftovers. The ambiance is cozy and always has a nice vibe. It can get crowded in the mornings, so I went for lunch, which was perfect. There were only about four other families, and I was seated quickly. Our food arrived in under 15 minutes.

I ordered my usual: a strawberry milkshake and “The Passaic” (pancakes, bacon, and eggs with cheese). The pancakes were perfectly fluffy, and the eggs and bacon were great. My friend had buffalo wings with crispy, tender fries.

For anyone with gluten sensitivities, Oasis offers options, and the staff is always willing to help with substitutions. I’m not sure about student discounts, but the atmosphere and food are definitely worth...

Worst place!! I went to have breakfast with my threee kids and as soon as we went in there was a good decent table kinda big and asked to be seated there and the owner’s wife said that table was for 6 people. They wanted to sit us and a table that fits only 2 people maximum 3 and I refused to sit there to the fact that when the food arrives we can’t even fit the plates... once we sat down in a different table the boss boy came and told us to seat in another smaller table because this one was big for us and I refused again. We weren’t even done eating and gave us the check right away and the staff and the owners kept on looking at us like if we were going to steal the food. I’ve been to this place multiple times and I never experienced this. I will never come again...

Grosss. Ma waitress. Was digging for gold. In front of ma table. And she never washed her hands. Service sucks. Dirty. Bad attitude never again. The only good thing is a spanish busboy hes very polite he should be a waiter. The rest of the crew. Not profesional at all. Never will come back. They could keep their waitress and their bugersss grosss...
