If you’re in Passaic, New Jersey, and craving authentic Spanish cuisine, Los Pollos El Chevere is a must-visit. On a recent visit, I sampled their renowned half chicken with white rice and special house sauce, and it was nothing short of spectacular. The half chicken arrived with a golden brown, crispy exterior that was incredibly inviting. The chicken was cooked to perfection; the meat was tender and juicy, effortlessly pulling away from the bone. This preparation showcased the chef’s skill in delivering a classic dish with exceptional quality. The accompanying white rice was cooked flawlessly, maintaining a fluffy texture that complemented the chicken. It served as a perfect base, absorbing the flavors of the chicken and the house sauce without overpowering them. The house sauce was a standout element of the meal. Its unique blend of spices and ingredients provided a flavorful kick that enhanced the overall dish. The sauce was a perfect balance of tangy and savory, adding depth to each bite of chicken and rice. The portion sizes were generous, ensuring a satisfying meal that left me eager to return. The service was equally impressive, with attentive and friendly staff who made the dining experience enjoyable from start to finish. The restaurant’s warm and inviting atmosphere added to the overall positive experience, making it a comfortable place to enjoy a meal. Los Pollos El Chevere excels in delivering authentic Spanish flavors with a touch of homestyle cooking. The half chicken with white rice and house sauce is a dish that deserves to be tried by everyone. It’s a testament to the restaurant’s commitment to quality and flavor. Highly recommended for anyone seeking a genuine taste of Spanish cuisine in Passaic. I’ll definitely be returning to Los Pollos El Chevere, and I encourage others to do the same. The food is exceptional, and the overall experience is one that...
Read moreAfter the way I was bad treated I WILL NEVER EVER COME BACK NOT EVEN IF SOME ONE PAY ME TO DO IT. I was at 228 Washington in Passaic Location two days ago, (it was on Thursday 30th of September) , I was terrible treated by one of their two waitress that they had that day. I arrived to pick up my oder and I asked for a cup of coffee. (when the waitress brought me my cup coffee I asked him for one bag of splenda on the side, so the waitress told me " Your coffee does not need more sugar, I already put three spoons of sugars on it"). I replayed him that "I do not use a regular sugar for personal reasons" and I asked him very nicely to make me another cup of coffee with Not sugar, so he told me "go to another place for your coffee If you don't like how I prepared it" After the coffee situation the waitress let me to wait for my food for about 15 minutes more. (Order that I previously placed over the phone like 30 minutes a head or more, because I placed it right after I arrived at Newark airport from my trip). I HOPE THE OWNER OF "POLLOS EL CHEVERE" COULD HIRE BETTER PEOPLE THAT REALLY REPRESENT THE BUSINESS. I was a customer of this place for over 15 years but not any more. NOT EVEN IF SOME PAYS ME TO GO THERE, I WONT BE...
Read moreI previously reviewed this place about a year ago, but recently went back with my boyfriend. The service was absolutely horrible! Everything was the worst. The waiter sat us down and ignored us for 15 minutes. Maybe he forgot about us, who knows, I had to get up and go find them. They gave us our food, but didn't come back to check on us at all. I had to once again get up and find them. I asked them for more water AND THEY NEVER BROUGHT IT. Once I got the check they over charged me! I called them over to fix it and they were so convinced I was wrong until I made them check the menu for the correct prices. They finally changed it and I left. This is the last time I ever set foot in this place. I use to love it, I would drive hours to come eat here, but never again. I'm almost certain that this place is racist...
