Applebee's Grill + Bar — Restaurant in Patton Township

I went to dinner here last night with my husband and our daughter for a special occasion. I ordered the Pepper Crusted Sirloin and Whole Grains. It consists of the pepper crusted sirloin, spinach, portobello mushrooms and cherry tomatoes served over whole grains. The service was rather slow but after finally receiving our food I noticed that the mine looked a little skimpy...there were no whole grains. I called my waitress over and asked her if there were supposed to be whole grains with the dish. She told me no and that I must have confused it with another dish. She asked me if I wanted her to show me the menu. Second guessing myself, I told her no and that I would take her word for it. After I had eaten about half of my dinner my waitress comes over and said she had made a mistake. She said I was correct and there were supposed to be whole grains with the dish. She told me that she informed the manager of the mistake and that he would personally be bringing them out to me. So I waited...and waited. Since I was hungry and my dinner was cold at this point, I continued to eat. By this time my husband and daughter were finished with their meals and we were just sitting there looking at each other wondering what was taking so long. Finally my waitress comes back over and asked me if the manager had brought out the whole grains to me. I told her no and that probably by the time he did bring it that I would likely be done with my dinner. I was eating very slowly. By the time he did come I only had about two bites left on my plate. He quickly walks by our table, lays the plate of whole grains down and keeps walking. As he did this, he quietly says, "sorry about that." My husband I just look at each other and shrugged our shoulders. I expected a little more of a response than that, especially from the manager. I hesitantly left a tip ad we paid our bill and we left...very disappointed. Needless to say we will never waste our time and money going to the Applebee's on Colonnade Way in State College. And we would not recommend this...

I only give this restaurant one star. Because that is required in order to leave a review. I'm a customer visiting this location at State College, and here it is. I'm the only African American who was inside this establishment. And I received hair on my plate. Both the general manager and the owner of the establishment took a nonchalant attitude in addressing this matter. So, if you're an African American, please do not visit the establishment because they are very racist because there's no way you should get hair on your plate. And there's other customers in the establishment that do not have any problem, which is full of Caucasian. We are the only African American. there to be treated in this manner.Please spend your money wisely and do not spend your money with people who do not appreciate you as a customer and think hair on your plate is acceptable as the owner Chris. Because I called and spoke to you on that day, and you had a nonchalant attitude telling me that the manager there was having a bad day, not addressing the issue of the hair being on my plate. So no, I will not come back to your establishment. Played in my food, hair and brunt ribs. To add insult to injury I’ve contacted the restaurant after receiving this order a female manager told me there’s a new cook the new cook burnt everyone food that day since the restaurant opened. The manager asked me to contact door dash customer service support. The service was terrible, I swear the manager didn’t even care, she’s like okay sorry but just contact door dash. That was my first time ordering from Applebees in Pennsylvania and my last time ordering anything from them!!! They burnt riblets and put a nice obvious piece of blond hair combed the top layer of the brownie bite. I’m not sure if it’s a race thing because it’s February or if it’s just they DGAF but one thing I know to never eat from there. Even the ice tea looked off. If you order please don’t have an ethnic name like mines being Caribbean-American(Indo-Afro) is hard on its own. Don’t mess with anyone food we’re all humans have some decency however may karma come back to all who had a part in that food being made, and placed for delivery may you receive the worst possible outcome of karma don’t...
