I updated this review on October 22, 2021 to highlight yet another bad experience a friend had.
He went to this restaurant on October 21, 2021 to find that the dining room was closed, so he went to the drive-thru. There were 15 cars waiting. After the long wait, the order taker stated that there was no brown rice, string bean chicken, or honey sesame chicken, and there was only enough kuno pao for one serving. He told them he was just going to leave, but then had to wait another 10 minutes while cars in front of him were served slowly.
It's pretty simple - Panda Express has no staff members because they think they can hire people at $12/hr, as the large sign out front indicates. Sheetz is paying $18 for entry level cashiers with no experience. At my own business, I have been offering people 20% raises and nobody is taking the offers. You simply can't hire people unless you pay at least 30% more than you did last year.
I don't care about the price Panda Express charges, but I'm not going to waste my time just to find out everything I want is out of stock. To Panda Express: increase your prices by 50%, staff up your restaurant, and you may actually get some people to wait in those long lines.
The food at this restaurant is great, but the customer service is horrible. This is one of the few restaurants I avoid.
The first problem arose when I was served shrimp, which I am allergic to, instead of the chicken I had ordered. I almost swallowed the shrimp before spitting it out. I came back several more times and the order accuracy was below 80%. This restaurant was so poor at getting the orders correct that I commented to their corporate headquarters that someone was going to be killed. Food allergies are no joke, and the line servers seemed to believe that getting an order wrong was a minor error and they were indifferent to the problems.
The second problem is that this restaurant is always out of food. They close at 9:00pm, but I've visited at 8:30pm and they actually refused to serve me because they said nobody else would order kung pao chicken after me. I moved my time back to 8:10pm and was getting the same answer, probably because all the other customers also stopped coming at 8:30. Moe's and Qdoba serve food until 9:00 and 10:00, because that's when they close. Why is Panda Express open until 9:00 if half the entrees are 86 an hour before that?
It's a shame that Panda Express serves such great Chinese food, but that the orders are so inaccurate and unreliable in whether things are available that I refuse to eat...
Read moreSo I waited a week to write this review so it would be as unbiased as possible. I moved from Arizona where pandas express is like Starbucks (on every corner) so not my first time.
The first time I went I arrived 10 minutes after open so I expected them to not be fully ready (managed properly they should be). So I got in line and they didn't have white rice ok. They didn't have orange chicken ready. Then they didn't have teriyaki chicken ready. These are probably 2 or the most popular choices and they did not have them ready to go. With all this aside I go to get my drink (I usually always get sweet tea) I pull the lever and nothing they told me they haven't made any tea yet.
Trip two I went in to give it another try when I get in line they had just run out of teriyaki chicken. I was told this would be 10 minutes so I decide to wait. It's finally finished I wasn't told anything luckily I was paying attention and waiting. I get up to the line and was told they ran out of rice. So I have to wait again.
Third trip I go in hoping you things have changed only to find out they have not. This time the rice was cold and still they did not have teriyaki chicken. I chose not to wait this time and got orange chicken and walnut shrimp. I received 3 pieces of shrimp and the amount of orange chicken was not worth the trip. My plate consisted of mainly just cold crunchy rice.
Needless to say these have been the 3 worst trips to Panda Express I have ever had. I would not recommend this Location. I still can't believe I went here 3 times. On the positive side the staff has always been friendly. My suggestion would be to have a talk with the manager and maybe some coaching with the staff on when to start...
Read moreToday was the first time that I've gotten food from Panda Express (ever). We got take out lunch for 2 of us. It was surprisingly expensive, but even more shocking were the serving sizes: little teeny TINY boxes. They looked like kids' meals. (It was comedic when we took our lunch out of the bag) Even though I spent over $32, it really wasn't enough food for our lunch (we aren't big eaters, honestly). I wasn't looking for typical American glutton-esque sizes, just really surprised. Pretty horrible value IMHO. Some of the food tasted pretty decent (the shrimp, even though there were literally like 3 in the tiny box. Ugh). None of the food was "Wow!". And most importantly, much of the food was quite "meh". Worst Rangoons I've ever had, crab or otherwise. There was about a 1/4 inch ball of cream cheese inside the overcooked pastries. Nearly NO flavor, except for the aforementioned pastry. Very surprised there was no sauce for dipping (really? I've literally never seen Rangoons served without dipping sauce). I never paid attention to this chain before. I will now to back to not paying attention to it.
There are many other VERY good choices for "fast food" in this town. I won't...
