CRNE — Restaurant in Payson

Just moved up to Payson from California, so trust me when I say: my taco standards are high. But Crne Tacos? Absolutely blew me away.

We came by on a Monday — their special chicken dinner day — and ordered the chicken plate (fresh breast + thigh), with rice, beans, fresh corn tortillas, and both red and green salsas. We also grabbed two carnitas street tacos. The second I took a bite, I knew I was in trouble (the good kind). The chicken was perfectly seasoned, with a golden crust that had flavor in every crispy edge. And the carnitas tacos? Authentic, juicy, rich — exactly what you want in a taco.

We literally turned around right after finishing and ordered two more tacos. No shame. Took them to-go and ate them lakeside at Green Lake — 10/10 vibes.

The guys running the truck are genuinely kind-hearted and personable, which just makes the whole experience even better.

Why tacos this good are in Payson, I have no idea… but I’m so glad they are. If you haven’t tried Crne yet, what are you waiting for? Whether you’re a local or just passing through, this place is a must-hit. Hands down, some of the best and freshest tacos I’ve ever had — and that’s coming from a Cali native. Will be coming back, again... and again... and again.

Bonus tip: they serve Vegan...

I'm on a personal life quest of finding good Mexican style street tacos where ever I am and CRNE had some of the best ones I've had in a while. I almost cried when eating their carnita taco because the meat was soooo good! Also very much enjoyed their carne asada taco as well, topped with sour cream, guac, and salsa..... it was chef's kiss perfection.

My mother, husband, and I were visiting AZ from NH and CT and we randomly stopped by here to grab a quick lunch on our way from Tonto to Phoenix. My mother, who was a little tired of Mexican food by that time, ended up ordering more and literally wouldn't stop saying how good they were the entire time. It made it on her top 5 AZ...

I had an extraordinary experience at this place, If I could I would give them a 10 star rating. I took a drive to Payson with my son and stopped for some Tacos, absolutely the best Carne Asada Tacos I’ve had in Arizona!!! I wish I was closer but definitely will make the drive again soon. Almost forgot to mention, the staff is supper friendly. Bless their young hearts cause it’s hard to find tasty food and good service, but here at Crne Tacos Fuego you sure will find both, delicious food and awesome service!
