Not an appealing exterior but, I have heard good reviews about Tomos sushi so we decided we would go here for date night. We walked into Tomo around 5:45 (as we tried not to touch the door due to it looked like it had never seen a cleaning) we were greeted and sat immediately. The table was not cleaned in the slightest and the water glasses we received had obvious food particles on them. I requested a new glass of water and we ordered two miso soup and 6 sushi rolls. Within what seemed like a moment we received our miso soup. The flavor was ok and the temp lukewarm. Not my favorite miso I have tried. Heading on into the restroom for a quick hand washing. I can tell you I needed to wash my hands again after leaving the bathroom, just filthy. I don’t understand why cleaning is a problem here? Tomo is small restaurant is should be clean. Now for the main event. The sushi shows up on boat and the display is beautifully prepared. The SUSHI flavor was the BEST I have ever had. So much flavor, so much love put into each piece. We gobbled it up and paid for our meal. My suggestions for Tomo:
You need to do a complete cleaning of this restaurant it seems as if anyone who works here doesn’t care about the cleanliness of this place. Miso Soup should come out at a proper temp for germ prevention Tell your Sushi chef is THE BOMB the 3 stars are for you chef
Overall we would come again hopefully,...
Read moreBLACK PEOPLE BE AWARE!!!! This place is EXTREMELY racist!!! I haven’t met too many racist Asians but you will find it here. If you want to test this out as a black person walk into this place and see for yourself. When you enter the building the cashier will turn to stare at you. The waitress will turn and stare at you and everyone who works in the kitchen will turn to stare at you including the sushi chef. There is no politeness or customer service at this place if you are black. They do not stare and say hello or thank you. They psychotically stare at you until you pay and leave the building. When a white person enters they immediately yell “Hello” and proceed to seat them. They have lost most of their black clientele due to the way that they are treated upon entering this place. The middle aged Asian lady who works the cash register was racist as I was a teenager entering this place. Since 2014 or 2013 I have consistently got the same treatment every time I enter this place which is why I have stopped coming here. That’s been 8 years ago so I decided to give them another try but nothing has changed. Most of the Black people that I know will tell you they have experienced the same treatment at this place. It’s really disgusting to know that as a born American a minority immigrant can come into your country and be racist and hateful towards you. Never again this place is...
Read moreRude staff members and dirty and unwelcoming. Wish I would have read the reviews FIRST before I wasted 30 seconds... Walked in wanting to check the place out. 3 workers were standing around and nobody said anything, then one lady said "to go?" And I said "for here" but let me look at the menu first. The menus were dirty and sticky and so was the floor. It was covered by the dim lighting so at first I didn't see anything until I kept flipping the pages. They could use the time they stand around and be more sanitary and clean up. Some cultures are very unsanitary to save money. I've never experienced this before until now. Plus there was a random cellphone sitting by the menus too. It was awkward being in there.
I was walking out and there was a couple behind me that came in and they were greeted with a "welcome". I noticed then that I was more rushed for a "to-go" order. I'm not sure why my entrance was unwelcomed. There are plenty of food places nearby. I have no problem going somewhere else but I'm not sure if it's because my hair is curly or I look young or was by myself that I didn't get the same treatment as the guest behind me. I wonder if they treat the elderly who are by themselves the same or minorites or anybody that doesn't fit in their "bucket" of what they...
