Wow! What a great place to stop in for a treat!
It was still a little chilly out the afternoon my girlfriend and I dropped in for ice cream at the Pearland Red Circle, so I hope that was the reason this place wasn’t full of customers. It deserves to be packed all of the time, open to close, year-round – it’s THAT good.
The ice cream is made there in the store, and all the “warm” items are made when you order. And they’re all delicious! I had the Churro Puff – a churro/waffle combination with ice cream and she had the ice cream-filled macaron sandwich (called an “I-C Mac”). We’ll be back to try to the donut sandwich, their drinks, and their different churro varieties for sure. The ice cream is on-point – subtle and complementary flavors that don’t crowd out the creamy texture or overwhelm the experience, so even the more “adventurous” scoops don’t go down like nuclear sugar bombs overloaded with mix-ins (unlike certain ice cream chains). If you like candy, breakfast cereal, and that sort of stuff, there are lots of options for drizzles, toppings, and even churro varieties that’ll get the job done well, without upstaging the star of the show, which is of course the delicious ice cream!
Their vibe has a distinctive Asian influence to it – lychee and sweet yam options were among those ice cream flavors on offer in addition to the more classic stuff like vanilla, cookies and cream, peanut butter, cookie dough, strawberry, chocolate, etc. The flavor selection isn’t huge and overwhelming however, which is great for indecisive people like me. Give me a place like Red Circle who does a dozen flavors really well over a place that carries 31 flavors to middling standards ANYTIME. It’s all made on-site, a fact the proprietors were quite proud to remind us of – in fact, everyone behind the counter seemed really proud of the business and their product, excited to introduce us to it and let us sample, and truly hopeful that we enjoyed it and would come back. Their customer service and attitude in general was really sweet and endearing, and not in any sort of a forced or phony way.
Obviously, it’s an ice cream shop, and the ice cream takes the spotlight. But I’d be remiss if I didn’t take a moment to RAVE about the churros and the waffles. The churros are soft, warm, sweet and slightly doughy – just right to complement ice cream and any harder, crunchier toppings you like. Several varieties going from the classic to the crazy-glazed – they’re SO good. And the waffles – just perfect. Quite unlike any “waffle” you’ve had for breakfast and not really like a waffle-cone either; they’ve got a smoother, less absorbent crust and seem made to pull apart piece by piece (in individual warm, soft little blobs with delicate, sugary edges) as you devour the scoop inside, not soak up what’s melted. Really nicely engineered for their purpose in addition to being a delicious complement to the ice cream.
I cannot recommend Red Circle Pearland highly enough if you’re in the area and looking for a sweet treat. Parking is ample, seating is comfortable (power outlets!), and you’ll be glad you went. The next day, you’ll be asking yourself (as I am now), “How soon is too soon to treat myself to Red...
Read moreYesterday Thursday April 16th 2020 my girlfriend and I went to Red Circle to fulfill our massive sweet tooth and let me tell ya.... that was BY FAR some of, if not THE BEST I’ve cream I’ve ever had in my 28 years here on this planet!!! I don’t think there’s words in the dictionary to accurately describe how incredibly amazing this place is TOP TO BOTTOM.. from beginning to end I enjoyed every bit of this place. With this whole quarantine thing going on we weren’t quite sure if they’d be open or how exactly we’d order if they were... so I called and they immediately picked up with a happy inviting “Hello How ya doing?” I asked how I’d be able to order being that they were open and she responded “The menu will be in the windows outside and you can call us to order.” So with that being said ya didn’t have to tell me twice, we rushed over! When we pulled up to the building a younger gentleman was outside talking to another customer/guest he had just served. I walked up to the window to see what they had going on and as he finished up with the others he walked up just as warm and inviting as the girl on the phone and let me know everything they had to offer and more. Telling me he had something really special that wasn’t on the menu displayed on the window just yet and that he could make it happen for me right then! I think he called it something like an Egg Bubble Waffle.. I’m not quite sure what it was called but it’s amazing you have to try it. The way he described it was a different shaped waffle that tasted like a mixture of a funnel cake and a fortune cookie which was spot on and INCREDIBLE!!! I’m an ice cream fatty so I ordered enough for 4 people for just the two of us. Being that I LOOOOOOOVE Macarons I ordered one Green Tea Macaron ice cream sandwich with their, unlike any other amazing Vanilla ice cream (the best vanilla i’ve ever had hands down) then I ordered a Red Velvet Macaron ice cream sandwich with Animal Funhouse Ice cream which is (That Vanilla + Marshmallow + Frosted Animal Cookies) Then you know I had to get what he recommended with that Waffle thing so I ordered one with Elmo Crunch which is (Red Velvet Cookies & Cream) and then I ordered a second Waffle with my now favorite ice cream EVER called UBE which is (Purple Yam & Coconut🤤) We got home and PIIIIIIIGGED OUT!! BIG TIME! I loved it all!!! It was quite the experience top to bottom like I said. Ice Cream and everything else was top notch unlike any other ice cream spot you’ve had and the customer service was like FAMILY!! With all this quarantine stuff I’m sure money is tight over there so please please PLEEEEASE go give them a try!!! We would hate to lose an actual TREASURE like this place!!! You won’t be disappointed!!! I assure you! Amazing people making even more amazing Ice Cream!!! We’ll be back there...
Read moreThe perfect dessert spot for everybody and the NEW HOT spot in Pearland! I honestly appreciate the fact that Red Circle is not simply just an ice cream shop - they have CHURROS, EGG WAFFLE, SUGAR DONUT, and refreshing drinks on their menu. The churros and egg waffle are made to order - fresh, warm, and absolutely tastyyyy! There are so many ways to “play with your food” (customize) by selecting the drizzle and toppings for your churros and waffle - which I think is such a great idea to make your visit unique each time. But if you’re a simple person like me, I just get the same thing every time haha. My current favorite is their Frosty Tiger - soft serve vanilla ice cream with brown sugar drizzle and churros. It’s an off the menu item so make sure to ask next time! They also have lots of pictures of their items on display so it’s that easy to pick out something you’ll like. Generally when I go anywhere I always have to yelp for pictures...
Last but not least and also one of the most important things to me... I’m a huge supporter of local businesses and this is one of the places where you just know the owners pour their heart and soul to running this shop. The murals are pretty cool itself and the place is always clean and friendly. Honestly, just go try Red Circle Ice Cream Pearland yourself - what do you...
