Karen is a friendly, upbeat, and personable waitress. Unfortunately, throughout our meal, issues kept compounding until I left feeling highly dissatisfied and completely offended. It started when my breakfast sampler arrived with all of the meat cold. I am visibly 7 months pregnant and under no circumstances can I eat undercooked breakfast meat. Karen did not arrive back at our table for at least 5-10 minutes after I took my first bite of cold sausage. I sat there not eating a bite during this time increasingly getting more and more flustered. I could see that Karen was busy she had to completely bus a table by herself (2 tables down from us), greet the guests that walked in during this time (walking past us without engaging). Finally, she did arrive back at our table. I notified her of the issue and she promptly took my plate away and brought back the same plate with the meat arranged in the exact same way, blatantly microwaved. I mentioned this to her in jest and she proudly announced yes indeed she had microwaved the whole plate herself. She left, and I refused to eat the abomination she set before me. My husband finished his meal, all of which was eaten with only one glass of tea because he never received a refill. She brought our check and we asked if we could have a quick work with the manager. RAY was explained the situation verbatim as I have typed it here. He took our check and applied an open discount of $3, to my $9 meal. When he brought it back after not apologizing a single time, it further offended me so greatly that I asked Karen to speak with Ray again. She informed me he was on the phone and busy and would be back around at some point. I waited for him to arrive and he informed me he COULD not do anything further. Still no apology received, I informed him I would be leaving precisely $23.49. At this point, he could correct his error, remove the additional $6, and insure his waitress received a tip. Alternatively, he could do nothing and let his staff go untipped which she did not deserve. He acknowledged again he would be doing nothing and it was Karen's problem to deal with. I paid Karen and informed her of the choice Ray made at her expense. She remained friendly, professional, and upbeat during the entire ordeal. Any restaurant would be lucky to have her as an employee. RAY on the other hand is whom I hold issue with. Yes his waitress had some mishaps but he accepted no responsibility, did not apologize once, and let the loss fall in the hands of a hard working server rather then accepting responsibility on the restaurant's dime. I would hate the work for such a disconnected individual who clearly cares more about his bottom dollar then employee and...
Read moreIt's a shame we can't leave reviews with negative stars... Worst customer service experience ever. Ordered curbside pickup and arrived at designated time. Called to let them know I was there. Even though they didn't speak English well, was told they didn't have my order, and was put on hold. 2 minutes later, was told they had my order, then claimed they couldn't hear me and hung up. I immediately called back and let them know in which stall I was parked. 10 minutes later, I went inside to get my order. Manager greeted me and said I "should have everything in my bag." No offer to make it right by remaking my order, no apologies. Now, on to my food... My buttered sourdough toast had better snapback than a well made dog chew toy. My bacon temptation omelette was cold. The cheese had congealed and the less than ripe tomatoes were the only moisture for the overly cooked eggs. The "crispy" potato pancakes, weren't. They were cold, raw in the middle and tasted of being flash fried in a deep fryer usually used for fish sticks. My boss's food: the country fried steak was cold, but was able to cut like the deep fried slab of lard. No gravy. The bacon and "crispy hash browns" were as cold and limp as I'm sure the manager's d**k is. The pancakes were cold enough to further solidify warmed butter. My food was left on the counter for such a length of time that the temperature was unsafe for consumption. Health department will be notified. Update: 4/1/21: 26 hours later, and I've she'd 3/4 of my intestinal lining and...
Read moreGreasy to the point your wringing your bacon out in a napkin. Since they changed their menu on 2/7 they have become the Waffle House with a face lift. When the waitress asked how our food was I explained that the amount of grease on the food on both mine and my fiancées plate was enough to dislodge anything clogging your system. Then when she apologized and went and asked her manager what he could do about the ticket the manager was reluctant to come talk to me. I don't know that all IHOPs suck this bad. I know the black cook at the Hwy 280 location can cook flawlessly. As for the valleydale location it seems their good food and good customer service has been drowned out by their "butter sauce" or grease as we call it. Couldn't give it a negative rating so it gets a 1. We will never visit this location as it stands. Off note: A mentally challenged guy tried to pay for his meal that was $10 and his card wouldn't go through. He said he was going to get some money and be back. They called the cops on him and said he dined and dashed. I overheard and offered to pay for his meal. The police went to his house to investigate and came back to inform me he intended on paying and was headed back to pay his tab. Even after the issue was resolved they still wanted to press charges and permanently ban him. Also thought this was a sign of horrible public relations and customer service. Just a heads up so you don't spend the night with...
