Zapata Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Pelham

Update: Got there a little late but wasn't too sure what time they closed, had a good meal, and were the last to leave by about 5 minutes, about 15 minutes after they closed, I think, bc the server never said anything to indicate they were closing. When we got up to leave our little brace faced server said "a Dios mio", which means My God! We were pretty disgusted. The owner, which we'd known for 30+ years, was quite nice and recognized us but I don'tthinkshe heard the comment. Underhand comments like this can ruin places. Get a clue, ur not the only one that speaks Spanish!

Was always a good place to eat until the last couple of months. The last two times I went their I was up most of the night with my throat on fire with the sensation that my throat was burning up! I've always been very nice to everyone every time I've been there! I thought perhaps the first time it happened that it had to be something else causing it like perhaps my salad I had for lunch the day before, but surely not this restaurant, however, after the older lady taking the money asking if I want a receipt this time around and the exact same thing happening a second time it is clear something going on here. Maybe, this restaurant no longer wants my business. Is it the way I look? Who knows... I am just a nice grandmother.. But, I will never go...

I was seated immediately and have a waitress there to take my drink order immediately and food order immediately, and the food came quickly, that is the positives. The food itself was bland and tasteless. The salsa had no flavor and was very watery, and the ground beef filling for my food was also dry and unseasoned. It tasted like at most it had a little black pepper when it was cooked. This is disappointing because I have gotten good from this place in the past, but I have noticed that they tend to be inconsistent with their food, leaning more towards the unseasoned side.
