KFC — Restaurant in Pell City

Had a craving for original recipe and decided on 12 pc bucket, all original, thighs and legs. Was told they cant do that...but they could do a 12 pc if i allowed them to make it thighs, legs and wings....which we agreed to. (Guess i should have ordered four 3 pc dark meat meals). We also got 2 mashed potatos, one gravy, and one cole slaw. Chicken (even the wings) was really delicious!! Cole slaw was up to KFC usual standards and tasted great. Potatos were basically glue. Not good at all and that is the reason for 4 out 5 score. Customer service was good. UPDATED REVIEW: So today, 3/15/22, when every other restaurant in town is open, including dining room and buffets, KFC advised me this morning, they haven't yet opened the dining room at this location due to covid. While that seemed strange, what can you do? Ordered 8 piece original bucket with potatos, gravy and cole slaw. Chicken did not taste fresh at all and 3 of the 8 pieces were crispy instead of original. Since my visit was around 11:00 am, I expected hot and fresh chicken but was disappointed there. Sides were very tasty. Drive through service was acceptable. I do however, wish they would do away with the storage area they used to use as a dining room and reopen it along with their competition. For these reasons, I have dropped the rating. UPDATED 10-20-22 Visited this location for the buffet. Staff was very friendly, buffet was full, chicken was hot and fresh. UPDATE Jan 2024: We have gone here to eat several times in the past year. The food gets progressively worse. They seem to have discovered Old Bay seasoning because the greens and beans are spicy hot! Spicyness can be added at the table but cannot be removed once cooked in!!! We went at about 12:15 today and several of the pans were empty even though it is open until 2:00 pm. She said she had no plans to replinish them. Her excuse was that the food supplier trucks were not running on time. The table was nasty and we had to ask that it be wiped. The buffet is a huge disappointment! It is nowhere close to the quality it was before the 2020 fiasco. We won't go back anytime soon! We actually went for the buffet and it had already closed. We plan to go back and try it out soon so I will update when we do. UPDATE: DEC 6, 2022 We went and ate at the buffet today. It was ok; I was not greatly impressed. The food was just not as good as it used to be and there was not as much selection. They did not keep the pans refilled as quickly as they should. ALWAYS remove the dried up scraps and replace it with fresh food!! It seems the current cook may be using old bay seasoning which I totally HATE, or possibly too much black pepper! It is MUCH too spicy-hot for those of us who suffer from acid reflux! You can add pepper, salt and other spices at the table but you CANNOT remove it once it goes in! Went for lunch and everyone in my group had the buffet. It was barely stocked and what was put out was cold and tasted old. NOT one person was wearing gloves when dealing with the food. The guy filling the buffet didn’t wear gloves kept the rag he was wiping the bar with in his pocket and took it out wiped his nose and then dipped it in the water and wiped the bar with it. Mrs. Deborah is usually the one working the bar and does an amazing job, she is so friendly, and ALWAYS wears gloves. The owner Polly Warren was in the back trying to open a bottle of seasoning and couldn’t get it so she put it in her mouth to open it then poured it over the food flipped the food with bare hands and then covered it with a towel.
