Mayas Mexican Grill — Restaurant in Pell City

Although we always went here from Moody because for the most part the food is good. However our experience tonight wasn’t. We were asked if we wanted a refill on tea and we said yes.Waitress asked us if we wanted it in a go cup and I said yes but can we get the large cups. She said she would have to charge us a dollar for the large cups. I said fine but we have never been charged before. Instead of bringing us large cups like I asked for she brought small so she wouldn’t have to charge and said small cups were free. She sas she was told if we got a large we would each have to pay just like it was a new order for tea. They charge 5.68 for 2 teas which is ridiculous anyway since it doesn’t cost that much to make tea. I also asked for a chips and salsa to go which I was going to pay for. She brought me chips salsa and 2 bags and said I would have to bag myself so she wouldn’t have to charge for that. I don’t mine paying it was just the way it was handled. We didn’t get a refill while we were eating I had to ask for it and she is the one who suggested in a go cup. Probably won’t go back there are a lot of other Mexican Restaurants whom I am sure would like...

Came to town to visit a friend and stopped to try a local place on a recommendation. Somehow this gem was hidden from us all this time, it was amazing. The waitress who served our table while claiming to be only 17 was by far one of the most friendly and professional waitresses I have encountered in a long time. She consistently throughout out meal checked to make sure we had everything we needed. The food came out in no time and was delicious. Obviously it was so good I failed to take a picture before digging in. There were large portions brought out to everyone. Another plus was the vast selection of margaritas. We had the Ocean, and lime margaritas and both were on point. What a great place to stop in and get your Mexican food fix. I highly recommend this...

Music was a little too loud but overall great experience. I've since eaten there three more times, twice for lunch which is always great or was the two times I had it great price and plenty of food and good food but my dinner experience was a different story. I got the steak fajita nachos and the toppings were very skimpy. The price was very reasonable at $10 but I would rather pay a couple dollars more and get more toppings compared to other Mexican restaurants that I have eaten at. There was hardly any cheese sauce on it or peppers and onions. But there was a lot of steak.
