I don't post reviews, but here we go...I've been coming here for a long while now so I'll do my best.
Atmosphere: The reason I started coming here in the first place is because they have a decent selection of beer including a bunch of their own brews. It's like a brewery that they tried to make a bit fancier; it's not bad, just different, like being on two sides of a fence. In any case, once you get used to it, it's a tad homier than first impression.
Food: Tough to describe simply. I'd say "American food, some of which has outside influences (Asian, Creole, Italian, Mediterranean), and oh they have deep dish pizza". In general, the food is good and what you'd expect. However, I'll give you my subjective honorary call outs: Salted caramel PIZOOKIE (I'm not a big dessert guy but damn it's good) Cherry Chipotle glazed salmon (as it comes with the couscous and asparagus!) BJ's classic ribeye (they actually do a great job, perfect cook) Mediterranean chicken pita tacos Tri-tip wedge salad (I sub blackened salmon or chicken instead) Avocado egg rolls Couscous mac and cheese California club flatbread Deep dish pizzas (must try Great White once) Fresh mozzarella and tomato salad (my FAV salad) Chicken tortilla soup (salty but if you're into it it's addictive)
Service: The people that work here are top notch - friendly, hardworking, personable, and just real humans which is a wonderful thing. This is what makes it a great place to come and hang out. Just a few shout outs off the top of my head who I can say I've personally seen go above and beyond to make BJ's a great experience include (but are not limited to) Justin, Ben, Dante, Kalea, Tatiana (who has an awesome food insta @weeatfoodsoflo), Kaitlyn, Calvin, Brandon, and Aleah.
So why the missing star? Here's my top observations: Food feels like it takes a bit longer than it should. Staffing is an issue. I'm not saying it's an easy thing to solve, but sometimes it's clear that they're short staffed, and the present staff does their best to accommodate that gap. Idk how complicated it is, but the a/c is broken more often than it should be. Placing mostly out of the way fans is fine temporarily, but for the staff's and customer's sake please just pay to fix/replace the a/c.
Thanks for coming to...
Read moreOMG this place was great we went for my sister Kendra birthday dinner her picking. We had never been before but it was a great New spot. Tara was our waitress she knew her stuff was attentive friendly and overall had a great personality. She gave us the run down on anything we had questions about. The wait when we went was about 45-60 minutes we did go on a Friday night around 9pm. The atmosphere was great it is a family oriented place kid friendly. They have seating inside and out as well we sat inside. Kenny had the wings with the dry rub they gave extra rub on the side as well it was delish. He didn't want to share with us but the little piece I tasted was so good. So try the wings when you come. He apparently had the shrimp pasta and the sauce was fresh and it was a large portion. Kendra just had the spinach and artichoke dip and you could tell this was freshly made it was great as well my mom and I were just dipping and she took them away from us lol. Yeah they didn't want to share. Peggy my mom had the blackened salmon with mashed potatoes and broccoli. This was a change for her because no matter where we go she normally gets the same dish. But this time she tried something new. She said it was really good and she was excited about coming back to in different dishes. I had the 6oz steak with mashed potatoes and cous cous Mac and cheese. The steak was medium well and it was really tender my brother was stealing little pieces when I cut it up. The Mac and cheese was ok it had bacon and green onions it was a bit bland but the salt and pepper made it pretty good. Now for dessert we had the cookie trio. There cookies can were fresh baked with a scoop of ice cream we had 2 vanilla and one chocolate. We were trying to get at those they were super good. I would go back just for that.Over all 2 👍 will definitely be coming here again and bringing more friends. To management please make sure Tara gets a raise because she was...
Read moreI love the restaurant, but the delivery service is absolutely horrendous.
They have a great app, and a rewards program that I cant complain about, but their kitchen staff cannot get an order right.
Since the pandemic hit we have consistently ordered delivery from BJs and it's more fails then win, on small things too (the details)
chips with no salsa or vice versa wrong ice cream flavor (despite notes and selecting the right option) sides always wrong or missing
This happens, in some form or fashion, 70% of the time. We would call the restaurant and the manager (we have spoken to a few) would give us the same song and dance of "ill speak to our kitchen staff" or "this is unacceptable and will be fixed" and literally the next order would be more of the same
Absolutely love the restaurant, but how this particular location consistently botches things is ridiculous. And the lack of care to properly address it so that customers get what they paid for and stay competitive is obvious
It took me a long time, and giving BJs many chances, to post a review like this - but im hoping it hits corporate and action is actually taken
For us - unless we go into the restaurant, we likely wont use their delivery service again. It's been such a waste of time, money, and stress.
I have nothing but good things to say about the in-restaurant menu, and their beer is always on point
UPDATE: the general manager and I emailed, and he issued an apology and then sent 100 reward points to my account
However, despite and email from BJs saying they were in my account - nothing ever came
Furthermore, for the past few weeks I have been emailing their support email AND every single email gets kicked back. I also let the GM know about this, and never heard back in the 3 weeks since.
I don't care about the points, it's the principle
Like...WHAT is going on with this...
