I am a long time customer of LA in Miami Lakes. I CANT WAIT UNTIL IT OPENS!!! I hope it’s the same staff and management.
The Pembroke Pines location is absolutely horrible. I’ve been coming multiple times and I’ve had enough. I ordered the chicarrón de pollo with Moro and maduros. I get soggy drumsticks in a bowl and a cup of some type of rice with red beans (congri). I asked the server what dish this was that I had in front of me and she told me that’s how the cook in the evening made it. If I wanted something else.
My son’s kid steak was cooked so well done that it could practically stand on its own. I wish I would have taken a picture.
This has not been the first time I have had many bad occasions but because of my loyalty to the Miami lakes location I kept coming back. I can’t say I will any longer.
Management/ owner. I recommend that you really train your kitchen staff. Broward is in need for great Cuban food. But you can’t have people from other countries making their version of the dishes. Make a standard that they MUST follow and you won’t go wrong.
I went to this location on a Friday night and there were only six parties. It should be full. You are losing money. Good luck
In reply to my response:
“to speak with the manager on duty when you find anything is not the way you like. Your satisfaction is important to us, and we would like the opportunity to make things right on the spot and and thus avoid negative and unnecessary comments”
The waitress told me she was going to tell the manager, the manager never showed up they just removed the dish. There was clearly no other solution for me. Everything was cooked horribly, why would I ask for another dish? To be disappointed again? The waitress’s response was “that’s how this cook in this shift makes it” meaning this is what you get.
As a person who knows the restaurant business, when a table is not happy with service or food the manager should come automatically it should not be requested. Your front of the house manager was nowhere to be seen. Like I said I do love LA but this store is killing you. The management, staff, and the food quality is clearly...
Read moreLet me first say that the food here is delicious. I really love the food and how it is cooked in this establishment and I do recommend this place. However, the customer service at the window (ventanita) can be improved.
Last night, 12/14/2023, I ordered a steak sandwich, french fries, and a pound of fried pork chunks (masa de puerco) for pickup through UberEats. I arrived to pick up my order at the window. The lady there was busy but was handling her customers well. She gave me my food, however, I noticed there was black beans on there which I did not order. I tried to confirm what was in the bag. However, she was so busy and inattentive that she told me all was in there.
When I got to the car, I opened everything and realized the order was wrong. Instead of the pound of fried pork chunks that I ordered, I received the fried pork chunks meal, which includes the black beans and rice.
I went back to the window to let the lady know that the order was wrong. However, the lady was all over the place and could not give me the time I needed to explain to her that the order was wrong. Eventually, she told me that what I selected in the app was Fried Pork Chunks priced at $12.44.
I explained to her that the Fried Pork Chunks priced at $12.44 IS the price per pound. The meal that I received instead is priced at $14.94. At this point, she was didn't want to hear it from me anymore and started getting rude with me.
The manager, or at least someone in a higher position, came over to hear what the problem was. I explained to him what happened and HE was great, polite, and quickly resolved the issue.
In the end, the issue is with the UberEats app. The heading says By the Pound. When you select the item under that heading the name of the item is the same exact wording as the meal. This is what led to the confusion in the first place. The wording when you select the pork chunks by the pound needs to be more descriptive. I tried to explain that but in one ear and out the...
Read moreWhile on the road running errands, I suddenly had a taste for a Cuban sandwich. Usually I get one at Publix, but this time I wanted the sandwich from a Latin restaurant. Then I remembered the Latin American Grill on Pines Blvd. and decided to give them a try. I'm not fluent in Spanish, but I know a bit of it to get by. As I entered, I could already smell the aroma that only comes from Latin cooking in the air. I approached a female behind the counter and told her I would like to place an order to go. Once she looked at me questionably, I knew she didn't speak much English. Suddenly another Latin female employee, who spoke English, came and took my order of a regular Cuban sandwich which was served with homemade potato chips.
With such a casual decor and just enough seating for customers, Latin American Grill offers a variety of items at decent prices such as breakfast dishes, appetizers, salad, soups, hot & cold beverages, sandwiches, specialty dishes, pastries, desserts, and wine & beer.
I couldn't wait to sink my teeth into the sandwich once I received it...OMG it was incredible! The sandwich was nice and warm (obviously toasted on the grill) with slices of ham, a few pickles, and a slice of pork which was topped with melted Swiss cheese. The homemade potato chips, which I ate really quickly, was nice and crunchy. I better start brushing up on my Spanish cause it looks like I'll be paying the Latin American Grill another...
