Good Morning! The world is shifting, we no longer value life and respect is out the window.
There was an incident that took place at Lestardos Crab House yesterday. 2 women with 3 children dined in for crabs, my family was present (husband and 2 children) along with other patrons. The youngest of the children (maybe 2) was screaming and laughing. Not screaming because she was crying or having a tantrum, but because she thought it was funny. Now this went on for about 20-30min. But for all who's been to Lestardos, it's not a formal or semi formal restaurant, this is definitely not the first kid to be louder than normal.
Across the dining room a man yells "SHUT THE F_ K UP AND GET THAT F KING KID OUT OF HERE." Now as uncomfortable as that might of been for you to read what I just wrote imagine hearing it. The mother naturally responds with a "you shut the f _k up. don't disrespect my child and come say it to my face." She repeated it a few times because she was upset. After about 5min this grown man in his 50s stands up, comes from across the room and over to the table where the 2 women and the 3 children are sitting. I immediately jumped up and in front of her, because at that very moment I felt she needed protection. At that very moment I saw a grown man willing and ready to assault after insulting this young woman. But what was even more hurtful is what I didn't see. We were not the only patrons in the restaurant, with the exception of my husband and one other man, there were other men sitting and did NOTHING. There were other women in the restaurant that sat by and watched and said NOTHING. And that broke my heart. I watched Krista who I absolutely love, apologize to everyone but the woman with her children. Not one time did she ask that man to leave. Not one time did anyone tell him that was unacceptable. When my 17yr old was willing to stand, but not the other adults that was sad.
What if the child was autistic? What if the child had mental issues? That man had no clue and no right. And if we weren't there who knows what the outcome would of been.
Women and children deserve protection period. I will no longer patronize Lestardos and I encourage you to...
Read moreSo my friends messed up my "diet" and took me here on a Friday night. I ordered the seafood bowl, broiled crab cake and crab bisque. I didnt really care too much for the seafood bowl seasoning. Everything was fresh, I just choose the wrong sauce to use. It had a lemony garlicky taste that was really powerful to me. But my friends loved it! Next time I'm gonna go with old bay. We also ordered the crab nachos and maaaan do they give you ALOT!!! They made everything from scratch and it showed in its flavors and textures! Sooo good! But that's not the highlight of my visit. My pictures are not doing this justice but the crab bisque was addicting!!! I'm not even a big soup, bisque or whatever eater but I honestly woke up the next day craving it! Mad I didn't get any to go, mad that I'm just now learning about this place, all the wasted years type mad. The bisque was heavy and loaded with crab and other wonderful flavors! The broiled crabcake was amazing too and tasted sooo good with the bisque!! Oh and i had the fruity SOB drink and was sold. That drink was sweet and sneaky. I downed three of them and woke up the next day to videos of me doing tiktocs I barely remember. I love how the fill the cup all... the way up too. I order the wings to go and my husband said they were really good! I also got to meet the owners and they are really great people! The servers were all amazing and attentive as well! Whenever I'm in the area I'm coming for my bisque...
Read moreOur hotel concierge recommended this place and we drove up to this little mom and pop hole in the wall with trepidation and delight. Oh. My. Heavens. This place is packed with locals which is always a good sign. The second good sign was when we were asked if we had reserved crabs. No, but that was ok, we were reassured, they had plenty of good sizes and varieties still available. We placed our choices in the hands of our server Theresa who steered us right. We shared half dozen medium blues, a crab cake appetizer and a jumbo fried shrimp appetizer. The crab cake was zesty and flavorful and I do know my crab cakes. The fried shrimp was excellent. I was concerned I wouldn’t be able to eat another bite but the crabs? They are so packed with flavor we couldn’t be bothered with our melted butter and spicy sauce. (I never neglect my butter but the seasoning was perfect!) Theresa even offered to help us with opening them, but we watched nearby tables and mastered it quickly. In NC we always order snow crab legs so not complete neophytes. We stopped in this town because it was a halfway point driving items such as a hand crafted child sized baby rocker and things we weren’t comfortable shipping for our future grand baby. I joked with my son that when we fly to Boston we will get a layover in Delaware just to go back to this particular restaurant.
These people don’t just know crabs they could teach a...
