3/16/24 Update: Just left Nick's Boathouse after WAITING at our TABLE for a waiter/waitress to even recognize that we were in the building. However, the individuals sitting behind us who were seated for two minutes had already given their drink orders to their waitress. I went to ask who our waiter was and the young lady said the hostess didn't put anyone down for our table but she would get someone. Went back to the table and waited even longer.... Watched TWO waitresses deliver drinks to the table behind us ( by the way we are the ONLY two tables with people in the building? I went to ask AGAIN for a waitress/waiter and the young girl seemed shocked that HE never came to take the orders. I suppose she meant the only guy who was leaning up against the drink station PLAYING ON HIS PHONE AS HE WAS WHEN I FIRST ASKED WHO OUR WAITER WAS AND WHO WAS IN THE SAME POSITION WHEN I RETURNED.... I told her don't worry about it just grab the manager for me. I expressed our disappointment and frustration at the treatment and lack of service and the fact that no one EVER CAME TO THE TABLE. I told him this WAS usually a stop EACH time we're in town, but we were leaving due to the circumstances and the fact they've wasted at least 25 minutes or more of our time. He said he just came in and didn't know...even offered to make it up to us. Nawww we left and I'm already at ANOTHER restaurant where we were promptly seated & before I could pull my glasses from my purse the waitress was asking for my drink order....that's service....maybe this is where God wanted us anyways cause she's already worthy of this $50 tip!!!! This visit was a far cry from the last time I posted a review. I'm not going to beg you to take my money. I deducted the three stars and the two were left only because the manager apologized.
Old Review: My FAVORITE seafood restaurant in P'Cola thus far. We stayed on the beach and went to a few restaurants on the strip and the food was OK but not as seasoned and tasty as Nick's....the salad was fresh, the lobster tail was uuuwwww-weeee, the red fish was grilled just right and the shrimp hit the spot. I left full and finally happy that I could say NOW THAT'S HOW SEAFOOD IS SUPPOSE...
Read moreFirst, when we arrived inside we were greeted by a very cute hostess Anastasia, who asked our preference to sit outside or dine inside. We decided to dine inside. We were seated at a very nice table view of the Gulf of Mexico and then our server Alex came right after we were seated with water in hand. After Alex introduced herself to us she asked if there was something else we would like to drink. Alex explained to me in detail the local Pensacola beers that they had on draft plus other varieties of beers as well. I said I would try the local dark draft brew and to my amazement, it was very robust and delicious. I thanked Alex for pointing that local brew out to me and began to order an appetizer of calamari fried with a very robust marinara sauce 😋 and my guest ordered the lobster bisque with crab and claims 😋. I sample some for myself and it was freaking awesome. I could have ordered a bowl of bisque, but that would have been dinner. So ordered the Surf and Turf 4oz medallion medium rare and cooked to perfection as well as the large blackened shrimp. I ordered a Caesar salad with my dinner and the salad was awesome as well. Very fresh and crisp and not overly dressing 👌. Just perfect 👌. My guest ordered the Redfish dinner with herb mashed potatoes and crab and shrimp ladle over the Redfish that was cooked to perfection. Flaky and moist very flavourful not over season at all. For dessert, we took with us a slice of fresh Keylime pie to have later at home. My guest and I felt welcome here at Nick's and a lot of that was due to our server Alex, she made every effort to make sure that she had our attention the whole time we were there. I know my guest and I will be coming back again and again because awesome food and the excellent service that Alex provided for my guest and me. Thank you to everyone for a wonderful 75th birthday 🎂 🥳. ...
Read moreThis restaurant is a special place for me. I always took my fur baby here on our way home from visiting Navarre. I lost her in November 2023. We would make a trip to the Pcola dog beach on our way to Navarre, then hit Nick's on the way home. I made the trip alone for the first time and today (Tuesday 5/28) was the day to come home from Navarre. I knew I would beat myself up for not going to our spot on the beach or not going to Nick's. So, I went to both places on my way home. I was obviously upset when I went into Nick's, I asked to be seated outside and away from others. No one asked any questions out of respect. I ordered my food (salmon, mashed potatoes, and veggie of the day) and asked for a plain burger patty. When it came time to leave, I asked my waitress if I could tell her a story. She listened as I told her about my baby and how we would eat there. I told her how special this restaurant is to me and why I ordered the burger patty. The patty was ordered for my dog's spirit, which was shared with 2 family dogs once I got home. She talked to me for a few mins before returning to the kitchen. I grabbed my belongings and stopped by the bathroom on the way out. When I came out of the bathroom, my waitress called my name. She offered me things to take with me, but I declined because I wasn't trying to get anything for free. She offered me a hug and I really appreciated that because it was needed at that time. Thank you for listening, being understanding, and so kind when I was struggling. You are a great waitress, and I hope that you are there when I visit again :) I don't want to add her name out of privacy and respect for her, but she knows who she is. Thank you to the whole staff for understanding and being respectful. The food was...
