The manager and staff sounded nice. I waited on line to have a cashier toss a receipt left in the shopping cart away. 11:50am May 6th, 2025: The security guard closest to the shoes and shopping carts was dismissive. They moved away from the after the cashier threw away the receipt. (There are trash bins under the counter)
Before entering: Through the glass as I put my phone and keys in my pockets I could see the security guard watching. He said welcome in but it did not feel welcoming. I found shoes I liked but two sets of small shopping carts were stuck, unusable. The large carts all had trash in them. I picked the one with the less trash and asked the security guard if there was a reciprocal. He said no there is none in the store and that there is one outside... I said, this is your trash though. (The trash in the Ross carts that is left by previous shoppers is the responsibility of any new shopper.)
Neurotic rational: No distraction to stop theft. ( There are two security guards and the store policy.) Character rational: Lazy, no initiative, no sense of pride or respect for the workplace or customer experience.
After they watched the cashier assis with my request of wanting to use a clean cart. The guard moved from their post as I was trying on the shoes that I picked. I put the shoes back in the correct place and was going to keep shopping. Unfortunately I realized I was offended by the situation and found that the foot traffic was annoying. To avoid becoming overstimulated I left. I was going to call the manager but I'm assuming there is a difference of who the security guards report to.
Solution: Improve the shopping experience through responsibility and prevention. Ensure the carts are clean and ready for use. (If two sets of carts are out of the cart area stuck together, get them apart and available or out of the way.) Besides asking people to leave the store, the accumulated receipts and paper trash should be addressed. *secure employee engagement, pride, accountability, and responsibility. *provide a trash can at the cost of a trash bin and bags. *lose company reputablility through putting store upkeep as the customers responsibility. Having customers go through the checkouts to have preexisting store trash removed...
Read moreI rarely give anything except 5 stars and just 3 months ago this place would be a 5 star still. I still hope I can come back to change this to a 5 star soon. However this specific location has gone downhill.... fast. They now have a high double tall rack for the kids stuff which makes stuff fall off and it blocks the view to the shoes etc and looks a little trashy to be honest. Lots of areas were trashed. I saw staff walking around but walking right past stuff laying on the floor... like they didn’t see it. It was strange. I picked stuff up. I hung stuff up. Figure I’d help. Also I was in line for 40 min yesterday and still hadn’t checked out and still had 8 people in front of me. Each person took about 5 full minutes and only one cashier was doing check out and one on returns. They opened another register and the guy took ONE customer and then left the light on but walked away. I saw him moving hangers later. Weird. I saw another 5 staffers walking around but no one helped at registers and no one picked anything up. The ONE girl doing check out was truly the slowest moving person I’ve ever seen doing check out. It’s almost like she tried to do it on purpose. Many commented on it. Maaaaany walked out. I feel bad for her being the only one up there and having no help though. That must be tough. It was all fascinating to watch, but not enough for me to stay. I walked out. This store branch is bringing this area down to be honest. I like to be proud of this area but this store is so bad I would rather drive 20 min to another store, or not go to a Ross at all. Like I said, I really, really hope they clean up and work on this store. I hope I can come back and change the...
Read moreI wish I can give zero stars!! This is the worst location I have ever been at. I always shop at Ross, it is my go to store, but this location has the worst customer service! I went it and it was so disorganized, there was clothes everywhere on the floor and it was discusting!! I have been to this location 3 times and all those times it was like this. I don't usually write reviews because I don't like to complain, but it was really bad. On top of that, I left my cart on the end of the aisle because I was at the shoe section and it is really narrow so I couldn't get through. One of the guys. I don't know his name but he was a dark skin guy (he was one of the security guys at the door ) took the cart and when I asked him about it, he was very rude about it and told me that if I'm not holding on to the cart, they are going to take it. And then he gave me my clothes in my hand and told me to go find a cart and figure it out. I have NEVER been treated like that ever in my whole entire life. He was very rude and disgusting toward me and made me feel very uncomfortable!!! This location is the worst. Please don't ever go there just because that guy is going to be there and be rude to you. There is a location on lake pleasant and happy valley, please go there, they are so nice...
