My family & I have tried this location 5 different times in hopes for a different outcome since moving to North Peoria but unfortunately that hasn't happened and after today we will never be going back. The manager we were speaking with (I didn't catch his name) was extremely nice and very, very helpful. He did everything he could to make our experience a good one.
However, the waitress we had totally ruined it for us. She was unfriendly not rude just unfriendly, she was just very short, never acknowledged us when we would say thank you or please, took our food before we were even done eating - she didn't even ask if we were done she just came up and started taking our plates away. Then when the check came & I tried paying with the QR code but someone else's check kept popping up. I was able to get the waitress and explain to her the issue and she acted like she had no clue how that could happen, she takes my check and comes back and tells me she had put someone else check on our table and so she had to close it out. Okay, whatever that means as long as I'm not paying someone else check. Well then I got to use a "reward code" for a free kids meal & she proceeds to tell me that I can't use it because the manager had already given me a discount on my bill. I asked to speak with her manager, as we weren't given a discount on our bill really the manager just took off the food that was undercooked, curdled Mac n cheese and the French toast tasted like straight cinnamon (I only took one bite and couldn't stop coughing after that) so food we were never able to eat and was taken from us. She even refused to try to see if the reward code would work. Luckily though she did get the manager for us who was more than helpful, he took the code and came back within a minute and told us he had no problem applying the code and apologized on the waitress's behalf.
Seems every time we have come here they are really understaffed with only ever 1 waitress working and sometimes not even a manager (at least that's what we were told when we dined here once at 2am) on duty.
If I could base my review solely on the manager I would give my review 10+ stars. I definitely think he deserves a raise for how he handles himself, takes action and even takes fault for mistakes that aren't his fault. He was a pleasure to be around and even went above and beyond for us when he didn't have to. Just wish he could have been our server and maybe our experience would have been better.
Needless to say if you're thinking about going here, JUST DON'T! Try somewhere else in the area that serves breakfast - Haymaker, JD Campbell's, Village Inn, literally...
Read moreI rarely write reviews, but I have to state that beyond the poor service, we saw multiple staff members vaping in the kitchen where the food was being prepared! I could be wrong, but according to Arizona law, this is ILLEGAL! Our booth was right across from one of the kitchen doors and we clearly watched multiple staff members vaping near the food that was going out to guests the entire time… On top of that but less importantly, the service was horrible. To preface, I was a server myself for almost 4 years so I know what good service should look like and what it can look like during busy hours… only when we went, it wasn’t busy - most of the booths were empty. My husband had to ask the waitress for creamer more than once plus the drinks she kept forgetting. After I told her I need one minute before I ordered, she didn’t come back to take our order or check on us for almost 20 minutes and that was only after we found the manager and had her find our server. After we got our food, she didn’t check on us once - we always had to wave her down, which even doing that was hard as she was almost never to be seen. While we were there, we heard several different tables tell her they were still waiting on items and had been waiting on them for quite some time. Finally, it got so bad that a table ended up walking out without their order telling the waitress, “we’re still waiting on our french toast - just give it to someone else at this point”. Shortly before we left, one other table in the section got sat and my husband and I ate almost our entire meal before they had even been greet - which again, had to be done by the manager since the server didn’t do it. To make it worse, for some reason, she was training a new server… I’m not sure why someone who doesn’t give proper service is training another server to also not give good service… like I said, I served for 4 years - I get it if you get a little behind or forget one thing. But this was unacceptable. And the amount of other tables giving complaints showed it’s not just us… I’d suggest seriously revamping your structure or getting new management… and calling the health inspector because why are we allowing vaping in the kitchen where food...
Read moreWell we decided to give our new IHOP a try on Christmas afternoon. We had a bad review from our neighbors and thought, well everyone's different. They said the service was horrible and they had to wait for ever to get their food. And when they did get it , it was cold. Well we went on Christmas afternoon, there was maybe 3 other booths taken, so they were not very busy at all. Their was more staff standing around than guests. We got there and ordered our food and we waited and waited. We ordered a simple sandwich, sliders and breakfast nachos. Really how hard can that be? Well 25 minutes later our server brought our food and said our breakfast nachos will be a little bit longer,Really? Nachos...Chips and cheese!! After we got our food we began to eat, nor did the server or manager come by to ask how our food was. We had to flag down another server/busboy to get our waitress to cancel our nachos. Even after we cancelled our nachos, she brought them to our table. We told her just to please take them back. After that the manager came over and offered to take the cost of the nachos off the bill. When we told him we had just read a bunch of other bad reviews and was going to post our lack of service on the web, he said he would cover the whole check. Tho this was the very least he could of done we will not be back until the service and/or management is retrained or replaced.
