Lakeside Bar and Grill — Restaurant in Peoria

Went last night to have myself and my girlfriends one night out of the week to which we always try somewhere new and have yet to be disappointed till we came here. We walked in were asked how many, just 2, no option of seating outside even though there were people dining outside. So we were seated in the dining room and believe me I understand a bar setting is typically loud and even meant to be but this is also a "grill" so when I can sit right across the table from someone and cant even hear them that's an issue. We decide to stay despite the noise, our waiter walks over says evening folks I'm james can I get you started on any drinks very bluntly and abruptly not even a courtesy how are we doing tonight folks? Good customer service from the start, when it came time to order the food he was still very blunt borderline rude, missed the fried zucchini I ordered I'm assuming because of how loud it was, ordered a burger medium got it nearly well done with just the edges having the slightest pink around it. The Coleslaw I enjoyed as I only like it a certain way and they nailed it. The burger was just flavorless granted it was the lakeside burger which is their most basic one but how about a little nore seasoning on the patties?? All I could taste were my veggies on the burger and the char from the burger itself, my drinks I ordered the cucumber collins(weakest drink I've ever had literally kicked it back in a second because it was like drinking lemonade) then also the Moscow Mule which I try at every place we eat at. This takes number one for the worst Mule I've had hands down I understand mules typically have bitters and this one has ginger beer but when it tastes like I just chewed fresh ginger(personally not a fan and you're crazy if you are) that's just gross I took two sips and couldn't finish it. Did the waiter ask about the food? No. Did he ask about the drinks other than if I wanted another? No. When i didnt finish the mule did he notice and ask if anything was wrong or if i wanted it taken off the bill as it sat there full? Nope. Thanks James and Lakeside for robbing us of a night out that we could of taken to IHOP right across from you paid a fraction of the price for better service. That says something. First of all the amazing! I am so very thankful to have a beautiful cool patio to bring the dogs! We were greeted pretty promptly after seating ourselves on the patio because we have dogs. I had called ahead 5 min before arrival to let them know we would be there and would love the most shade which we got. I was a little annoyed with a couple things... first of all our server ran away before we were done talking to her to greet another table, which is cool I get it but those guys got there beers promptly 2 min after ordering them, I had ordered a beer and didn’t receive it until after I had asked a host and another server for my beer about 20 min later.!and when I addressed the server about the issue all she said is sorry, we got busy.... which is poor excuse knowing I order my beer before the table she ran away from us for. I didn’t see her till about 5-10 min after food arrived and I finally had my beer. Whatever I get it, I have been a server and forget stuff to but be accountable and acknowledge me as the one left wanting and waiting. Playing favorites with tables never leaves a good impression. My friend got a carne asada taco salad and it was dry but meh... something that can easily be looked over when customer service is priority. Food was prompt. My burger was suggested to me by server as a #1 ordered item and it was mediocre at best... she is polite but mehhhh.... I love that they have a doggie ordering section. There were 8 of us. We asked to be seated outside but they could not accommodate us. So we were seated inside right next to the bar. A waitress came over and we ordered sodas, waters and milk for my 2 grandchildren. Roughly 20-25 minutes later the waitress who gave us our drinks asked if we had been waited on. We told her we had not. She walked away and we waited another 10 minutes. Finally the bartender came over and took our order. One person ordered a tuna melt with sweet potato fries. She was served a patty melt. We said something immediately and were told our server would be right over. 🤨 She apologized said she would put in a new order and it will come out pretty quick just a couple of minutes. Wrong! We were all finishing up when they brought her tuna melt with regular fries out. So we just took the order to go. They did give us the patty melt instead of throwing it out and did not charge us. After everyone was done eating and the food packed up we waited another 15 minutes for the check. On our way out the hostess was to busy gossiping with a coworker to even acknowledging us leaving. We had to loudly say, "Thank you have a nice night". They did acknowledge us leaving. We had noticed they were not the only 2 who thought gossiping was more important than customers. Some people were multi tasking picking up the slack.

We are here on vacation. Where we come from if there is only one bartender on duty serving the whole restaurant they don't wait on tables. My family and I are not hard to please. And we don't ask for alot. So this is highly unusual for me to be leaving this...
