Another restaurant I overlooked a million times over. I was so hungry and the original restaurant I wanted to eat at was closed. I took the opportunity and walked in. I was overwhelmed and overjoyed by looking at their menu. I was greeted as soon as I entered the restaurant. I was able to choose my table and right away took my drink order. As I scanned the menu I wanted to order everything. Can you tell I was hungry? One of my favorite dishes is the meals made in clay pots. Another favorite is the glass noodles. When I saw the shrimp clay pot I ordered it. I was thrilled to see that their soup options come in two sizes ... small and large. I was jumping for joy. Ordered my chicken coconut soup (small) and the flavor was out of this world. I sat there thinking why did I take so long? I will be returning many times over. Singing ... spreading the news (baritone voice). Making plans to return with my friend's. Thank you Tom Yum for a wonderful experience especially for my first visit. Happy eating 😋

My family and I have been here several times on different occasions. All visits were nearly the same experience in regards to service. This particular time was unfortunately the last straw for us after giving several opportunities for redemption. We ordered our beverages which were brought to us with no carbonation. When telling our waiter the response was "we know, our Co2 has been out all day". Should this not be something told to patrons before ordering or post a sign? On top of this when we recieved our food (we ordered the drunken noodles with veggies) we were given a plate full of vegetables. There was barely a few noodles. We were not ONCE checked on during our meal and had to hunt down someone so we could get the check. It was a terrible experience and the food was below average. If you are looking for some amazing Thai food, try Sala Thai down the road. They will treat you well and the food is out of this world!

Tom Yum in Peoria is an absolute hidden gem! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warm smiles and an inviting atmosphere. The staff is attentive, friendly, and genuinely passionate about their food. Now let’s talk about the elephant in the room— the food. The Tom Yum soup is hands down okay at best. I’ve had better outside of Thailand. Perfectly balanced with heat, citrus, and that rich umami flavor that makes every spoonful awful. We also tried the Pad Thai, Panang Curry, and Mango Sticky Rice — all beautifully presented and bursting with flavor but tasted nasty. What really sets this place apart is the freshness of the ingredients and the care that clearly goes into every dish. Whether you’re a spice lover or prefer milder dishes, there’s something on the menu for everyone. If you’re in the Peoria area and craving authentic Thai cuisine, Tom Yum should be an option not necessarily your first choice.

We eat here 4-5 times in a month but today when we checked out I didn’t leave a tip. So we walked out and the server came back asking for oh you forgot to leave us a tip. I said no I did not. And she mentioned oh did we do anything wrong and completely explained her no nothing was wrong. Everything was good I just didn’t wanted to leave a tip today! And she started saying oh why??? We did served you good then why are you not leaving a tip? I told her we leave a tip every time we eat its just today I don’t want to leave a tip and she didn’t liked it. I went back in there and told her if you are expecting a tip from every guest at bill then let them know before hand rather than coming back after they already left from the restaurant. She starting talking back with ohh we worked hard (everybody does) and we get minimum wage here (told her its your choice you need to tell your owner to give you all raise) and she didn’t like it and started shouting back that we don’t get that much pay and do so much of hard work to serve. I totally understand but you just cannot force a customer to pay a tip every time they come to your restaurant. It was really disappointing behavior from them today. We loved the food here but again with your expectations from every customer for not leaving a tip is not okay. We will not be eating here anymore. FYI there was a cockroach by the seat where we were sitting & my kids saw it and I didn’t mention that either plus who sweeps when you have a customer eating in the restaurant(wasn’t the picking up sweep by the tables). That lady did started sweeping from the bathroom till the table we were sitting at while my kids were still eating and I didn’t wanted to make a big deal about it because I know it was getting late. I hope the owner of the restaurant knows that their staff is not happy with you paying them a...

I live very close and have never tried the place before but because I was home sick, I sent my husband to get some food so I didn't have to cook. I really cannot comment on the staff or the atmosphere because I didn't go in and see it for myself, but I can comment on the food...in my opinion only, this was not good Thai food at all. Prices were high and the taste was simply bad. First off, the broth for the Tom Yum Gai soup was darker than it typically is, the broth has flavor, just not the right kind, it just wasnt right and on top of that, there should NEVER be tomatoes in the soup. That's dont put tomatoes in this soup. The broccoli delight broth was not anything I am used to, again, the flavors were just off and no it wasnt me. The broth should be a seasoned oyster sauce and this was flavored but not correctly and I was not a fan, plus lots of carrots and even though the dish typically doesnt come with carrots, the carrots wernt bad, just weird. You got more carrots and broccoli than chicken and the chicken you had to pay extra for. The pad see ewe wasnt overly bad, but definitely wasnt the best I have had. None of these dishes would I order again and feel like I wasted $50...glad I tried it cause now I know. I grew up on Thai food, my moms from Bangkok so we had Thai food every day. Most people dont know Thai food, they only know the kind they have been introduced to, the americanized version. All I know is I wanted to like this place and I...

My husband and I absolutely love Tom Yum Thai Restaurant! During our recent visit, we started with the delicious sweet potato tempura appetizer. For dinner, I enjoyed the Broccoli Delight with vegetables made vegan - always delicious, perfectly cooked and flavorful. My husband loves the vegan version of Drunken Noodles, another fantastic dish.

The restaurant was packed, which is always a good sign, and despite the busy atmosphere, the restaurant was clean and the service was surprisingly prompt. Our food came out hot and fresh, and our beverages were regularly refreshed without us even having to ask. The only minor suggestion I would make is that they could perhaps improve the exhaust system in their kitchen, as some cooking smoke does drift into the dining area at times. It's not enough to deter us from coming back again and again. =)

Overall, though, our experience was excellent! We love coming to Tom Yum for dinner whenever we're in the area, and we highly recommend it to anyone looking for delicious Thai food, especially those seeking vegan options. We can't...
