JM Chinese Cuisine — Restaurant in Peoria

My family has been a customer here for over 20 years, to the point that when we call, they know my order by the sound of my voice. We haven’t eaten there in a while as they stopped delivering and it hasn’t been convenient. Today, I had my husband go and get me some soup and food for the family as I am really sick and always get war wanton soup, plus I didn’t have energy to cook. He picked up the food and brought it home. While the soup was good, they did not include a side of rice, which they have done for years and years. The crab puffs which we always get, had no filling inside and the sour sauce tasted like ketchup. The fried rice wasn’t even fried, and was soft and the meat tasted very tainted. We called immediately to see what was going on with the food and we were told they have new owners and would refund us the entire meal when the manger came in later. My husband insisted we would pay for the soup as that was eaten. We sadly had to discard the rest of the food as it was not the quality we had come to know and we didn’t want to risk getting sick from it. My husband later called to confirm the manager issued a refund and he was yelled at, and hung up on. He called back and was told “to call our bank” when my husband told them it’s not the banks fault and to issue the refund, he told my husband to bring the food back. My husband told him the food was in the garbage as he was told he would be getting a refund. They then yelled at my husband and told him “come see my face” as if they were trying to challenge him. This is the 5th Chinese food restaurant iv tried since moving up here. So far its the best. The orange chicken actually has flavor and some spice. All the other places seemed bland. When I say spice no it wont burn your tongue.

I tried the below with my Girlfriend: 3 lunch combos

Orange Chicken -Great

JM House pork -Great

Sweet and sour pork -"Pretty Good" -gf

Egg drop soup -Great - gf

Cheesy puff thing -Delicious

Lo mein, not very many vegetables, spagetti like noodles, then again I really don't expect much from the sides, you can go for rice, fried rice or Lo mein for lunch. -Ok

Spring rolls, all spring rolls taste funny to me, these are no better or worse then any iv ever had. -NA

Sweet and sour sauce has its own little kick -Delicious

Delivered on time, the order taker is easy to understand and quick with it, nice n hot.

Texture 10\10 One of the things that stands out is the texture of the food, if you think it should crunch it does.

Portion size 8\10, it's more then enough but iv seen way more for the same price.

Don’t ever go here, the food changes depending upon who is there the cook and or manager. The manager is very very rude and does not deserve to have his job!! You do not have the right to be rude or cuss at a guest. If your I charge do something about what the customer is asking about or step aside instead of being a sarcastic, smug, and snarky individual. I will tell everybody I know about this, and I have also posted it on yelp. You need to learn something about being in a hospitality, base industry, and a restaurant service role even as a leader you must still be approachable and friendly and know how to talk to people you my friend not appropriate for the role you are in. I will never come and spend another dime in that restaurant just because of you and I hope the managers and owners see this so they know that the service and the experience you were giving the customers and his restaurant is very very very very very very very bad and you don’t deserve to be paid to...
