Ono Hawaiian BBQ — Restaurant in Peoria

You need to know that the food is great! The bbq mix is my fav but they consistently get my order wrong at this location. One of those errors is actually how I came to know about their fresh mix salad which as it turns out is quite tasty (edamame, salad mix, and a delish dressing). But I guess I'm not part of the solution because the errors usually just weren't worth the time and effort to report so I just dealt with it. Just 2 days ago I went and ordered 4 combos but because I don't particularly like rice I always order double mac instead of rice. (That's why I ended up with a full plate of fresh mix salad on one occasion where they got my order wrong ). Guess what? I ended up with combos chock full of nothing but rice Instead. I called and spoke to the GM Winnie. I wasn't rude, I wasn't demanding just simply wanted my order corrected. SHE ARGUED tooth and nail that I was wrong and they had gotten my order right. Ummmmmmmmmm....in what bizarro world do I order not one but 3 out of my 4 combos chalk full of rice that 3 out of 4 of us DON'T LIKE. ? She did offer once she'd said her piece, to replace it. At that point I'm aggravated because most places would've solved it quick and fast. Stats show that most patrons dont bother giving feed back instead just won't return when they're dissatisfied with service. Go for the food, not the service. And don't be a dummy like me and double check your order WHILE...

It was very good I must say. It was our first time there and we went with their teriyaki chicken and kahlua pork. The meals were good it was a combination plate with with white rice, veggies underneath the chicken and pork. Which what we basiclly got was pretty much cabbage but it seemed to be steamed so it was good. And maccaronni salad on the side also, which also was good. The meal portions were pretty filling, the proteins there was plenty. I think there was to much white rice for me and not enough maccaronni salad or veggies. But overall the meal was pretty descent and wasn't cheap but didn't break the wallet either. I guess you could say for the portion size served it was reasonable priced. It would have been great if it came with a drink but what can you say. The service was really good it being our first time there. The person working the drive thru was very helpful and not pushy as in hurry up and decide. She seemed to be very knowledgeable as to what came with what. And what was a descent choice. There seemed to be an ok selection to choose from. From family meals to combination plates. Which we should have went with a family meal. All together for three of their combination plates two teriyaki chicken and kahlua pork it was under $40 around $37 if you round it off. Which again seemed to be ok for what we had ordered and the helpful service. We will be returning to try other...

So we are here temporarily due to my husbands work and for years I went to L&L Hawaiian BBQ in Colorado and it was always amazing, coming here the nearest L&L was more than an hour away and the reviews were bad. I wasn't going to drive that far for bad food or customer service. Well while in the area for an appointment I decided to look up other Hawaiian BBQ options and Ono popped up and it was across the street from where I had my appointment. I am so glad I decided to give it a try! I love Chicken Katsu and this DID NOT disappoint! The panko breading was crispy, the chicken was juicy, the rice was cooked just right, the macaroni salad was creamy and cold like I like it, next to hot rice, the portions were large and surprise! Veggies! L&L does not give you broccoli and cabbage with your plate! The Crab Rangoon was crispy on the outside and creamy on the inside and was delicious! Everything was hot and fresh and made when I ordered it! I don't know what people were saying about old food in the reviews, I literally watched them make my food fresh and it was amazing and I am not just saying that because it's been more than 2 yrs since I've had Hawaiian BBQ. I hope ALL Ono locations are this good because I won't be in that area again but I definitely will be going back to the nearest Ono to me in the future to get by Hawaiian BBQ fix! I need to try the rest...
