This past Sunday, my family and I went over to Serra Gaucha Brazilian Steakhouse, after having to run some errands on this side of town. The food was amazing, 10/10. Everything was perfectly cooked and presented phenomenally. The salad bar was set up properly and was clean. As I roamed around the restaurant, I noticed the staff would stop walking if they knew we were going to cross paths. I noticed tohe leaders/managers were roaming around my table majority of the visit. I noticed that there was always someone around my table that wasn't servers, waiters, or hosts. There was a moment in the visit where I have asked one of the waitresses to clear the table since it was getting filled with dishes. She happened to miss one of the plates and the manager that was lurking grabbed it and handed it to the waitress to take back to the kitchen. Even after the manage never left my area of the table. At this moment I was starting to get uncomfortable. I started to suspect that they may have been under the impression that we were going to dine and dash to be honest, in all honest that doesn't feel too good. I brought my husband here last year for his birthday. Last time around we were dressed to impress since we had a long evening of celebrating. This time around it was a spontaneous visit, and we were famished after the long day we were having. So, we were definitely not dressed as highly as last time. Even though this place does give a casual vibe, the attire we had involved crocs. So that should give you a glimpse of what it was. Multiple waitresses approached the table, asking if I needed anything. It got to the point where whenever I took a bite someone was asking "How is everything? Do you need anything?" It truly was frustratingly annoying. However, I kept my patience and told myself its all in my head. Finally, by the very end of the visit, my husband and I flipped our cards over to red, and of course here come the waiters asking once again. In this part of the visit, I need to explain, my soon to be 2 year old son, at the moment is not eating meat. He is currently eating anything but meat. So on my arrival there, I helped myself to the salad bar and got a plateful of salads and vegetables for my son to eat. He ate a lot, he had a great time eating and in the end he started to throw food to the ground so I moved the plate away from him since thats currently his way of telling me, 'hes done'. anyways, the very last waitress, older, blonde, has an accent, this is where I threw in the towel. She approached my table asked about my son like every other waitress and server. And then asked "did he eat meat?" i replied with a no. and then said "aww only air then." I was so thrown from that statement I was literally speechless... I snapped myself out it and tried to explain that he had veggies. And then stopped myself from explaining because 1. I dont make scenes in public like that. 2. I was already exhausted. 3. I shouldnt have to explain to anyone why my son is currently not eating meat. I grabbed my son, and told my husband that I wanted leave. I was so distraught I just walked outside with my boy and waited for my husband. I am not including everything else that I have to state about this experience. I am truly disappointed by this experience. It is now Thursday, I have tried to see things in a different point of view and tried to put myself in her shoes and every time I try to justify her actions, I still feel that she was out of line. And this is what led me to this review. I'm not sure if this well get to anyone in the restaurant, but if it does, I hope they get the proper training to handle customers better. This place is a gem and I would love to return in time, and hopefully I don't have to ever experience this again. Thank you if you made...
Read moreWe were really excited to try this Brazilian steak house but had a pretty bad experience. The salad bar was simple but pretty good, the meats were good as well. Our personal favorite was the chicken legs and the Parmesan pork, amazing flavor! I have worked at and visited churrascarías many times, and I have never encounter such an unprofessional management staff like I did tonight. The workers and our server were great, friendly and very respectful, but Norma the server manager made us have a terrible experience.
As we were finishing the night a server came to ask if we needed anything, we asked for bottom sirloin but it wasn’t brought to the table, which wasn’t a big deal because we were still talking and enjoying ourselves, later three more servers asked if we needed anything we reminded them of the bottom sirloin, then Norma came to ask, we let her know we were just waiting for the bottom sirloin but everything else was good. Eventually a server came with top sirloin and we let him know that we didn’t ask for that cut, but then Norma came and told us that we had asked for that, we let her know that we asked for bottom sirloin, she insisted that we didn’t, my husband told her that he knows the cuts well and he asked for the bottom, she continued and said no you told me you wanted top sirloin, she then said “I have 12 years being a server I know what you said and what I heard” at that point she had escalated the entire interaction she was visibly upset, my husband let her know that he is from Brazil and told her the name of the meat in portugués letting her know that he asked for that specific cut, she took off her mask and started screaming across the table being extremely rude and disrespectful for no reason at all, she continue yelling across the floor, the other tables witness everything. I told my husband to just let it go. She went to the back and no one came to apologize, or even said a word about what happened. It was such a simple and stupid interaction that she as the server manager and profesional could have avoided entirely. She could have just say okay let me get that cut for you and that’s it, but instead she decided to yell and act like a crazy person making us and those around uncomfortable. We asked to speak to someone above her but there was no one there. It’s sad to see that someone who is suppose to be the service manager act the way she did, and I understand you can loose your cool but she didn’t even come to apologize afterwards. We are paying for the entire experience, we were not rude or mean and were mistreated. We will definitely never go back there, if you want a nice brasilian churrasco experience go to Fogo it’s worth the money they are always so profesional. We wanted to give a different place a try but what a...
Read moreWe went here for my husband's birthday dinner and it was awful! The service was terrible and they weren't even really that busy (it's a smaller place and there were multiple empty tables.) Starting at the receptionist booth, we had a reservation and we were told it was just going to be a few minutes which is completely understandable but not when the receptionist is just standing there, leaning on the desk, scrolling up and down on the tablet and not actually busy. When we were seated, the first round of drinks were fine but that was the end of the okay service provided by our waitress. She didn't bring the sides (mashed potatoes and fried bananas) until we asked for them again half way through the dinner and we were met with a rude attitude and treated as if we were an inconvenience. When she finally did bring them out, they were luke warm at best. My husband asked for a second beer 3 separate times, my MIL asked for her second club soda 2 times, my brother in law had to ask for a refill on his drink a couple times. Anything we asked her for was a huge inconvenience for her and she made it known with all the eye rolling and lip smacking. The last straw was the dessert. We ordered dessert and then proceeded to wait 15+ minutes for it. By this time, more than half the restaurant was empty already. When it finally came I had already spoken to another waitress and asked her for our check so as to avoid another long wait from our assigned waitress. The food was just okay. All of the meat was really fatty and very overcooked. A couple of the guys serving the meat didn't even come to our table, even after we asked for them to. It was just not an experience that you want to have ever let alone on a special occasion. The only reason I am giving 2 stars is because of the help we got from the other waitress and because I spoke to the manager as we were leaving(I would have done so sooner but she was MIA). I told her about our terrible time she was very apologetic and she gave me a gift card for our next visit but I'm not sure we will even use it after...
