Vine & Olive — Restaurant in Perkins Township

Let me just start with saying WOW! So here is my story.... I heard things about Vine and Olive so I was like what the heck. I have time. So I decided to journey on over for some food. I pull into a parking spot eyeballing the place from my car. Doesn't look bad at all! Has some nice outdoor seating in the front. So I get out of the car and go through the doors. Very fine looking place. I do apologize for the words aren't coming to me for how to describe it. Let's say a fancy like cafe/bakery with other merchandise that matches the scenery. Everything looks like it belongs there. To the left is a whole wall of wines. To the right is other great merchandise that I will admit I did not look at, for my main goal was food! So I walk up to the bakery section in the middle and ask the lady if she had to choose a dessert what would it be. She said pumpkin cheesecake with a smile. So I order it and walk to the back to order some meal food to have with my dessert. I go up to the counter and choose a random chicken like sandwich and a very delicious flaky roll stuffed with spinach and feta. I sit down at a bar like table and start on the cheesecake. VERY GREAT RECOMMENDATION! Perfectly balanced flavor and not to heavy on the stomache! To make it all better I stop a worker to ask if where I'm sitting is okay. She said I was completely fine and asked if I would like some wine. My response was I don't normally drink wine but if you have a good recommendation I'll buy a glass. So she thinks for a moment and pulls out a bottle to pour me a sample. I take a slow sip that spreads the wine over the entirety of my tongue. The flavor rolls over my tastebuds and it is OH SO DELICIOUS ! I tell her I will take a glass and a bottle for home! The wine was also a great match with my food. Very impressed! So I enjoy the next moments eating my food and sipping the wine. When I'm finished eating another worker takes my plate while I finish the last sip of wine. I then travel back to the desserts to take some for the road. I get some tasty looking almond cookies and while I'm looking for something else the lady that took my plate recommends the tiramisu. I ask if its good hear and she replies, OH yah, we can't keep it on the shelves. So I tell her I'll take it! We talk while she rings up the dessert. The conversation was pleasant and added to my whole experience. To wrap up the wonderful adventure I took a walk around the store making mental notes of things I will want to come back for. I then walk out the store with my tasty wine in one hand and my dessert in the other, pondering the experience I just had. Looking forward...

I have ALWAYS loved this place since I married into a lovely family from Milan in 2016. My mother in-law brought me here upon my first visit to Milan and I’ve been hooked since. But today they truly went above and beyond to make me feel their love and kindness. We were with my 4 year old at Great Wolf lodge today and I called in some food to go. However it happens from time to time my order got lost in translation and never made. When I arrived to pick it up the assistant manager took a hold of the situation and not only got my order made in a timely fashion but also took great care of me. I would always recommend this place to anyone for how amazing their desserts are (YOU HAVE TO TRY ALL OF THEIR CHEESECAKES !!!) but their wine selection and specialty foods make me feel like I never left Manhattan. The store itself is beautiful with a variety of products. Definitely that I would give five stars but only doing one star because that is how certain staff members make you feel as you walk in ! The look upon one particular staff member’s face on multiple occasions of us shopping there . She will greet you with a glare as if you do not belong in the store not even bothering to say “Hi” or “Can I help you find anything “ . Instead she will watch you as if you are there to steal . Terrible even at checkout . Not a “did you find everything ok”- nothing . No words , just her taking the money out of my hands as if I had cooties with a snarled look on her face. No “thank you “ or “have a nice day”. I normally would think maybe she is having a bad day but again, this has happened multiple times.
