The food was amazing and the chef was excellent, but I will never eat there again because of the waiter. I had ordered a water with lemon, which he confirmed with me when he was writing down, and got no lemon in my water which no big deal by itself. Next my oldest son was given white rice when he had ordered chicken fried rice, in which the waiter made it a point to run over and argue with my wife that she had changed his rice to white rice instead of accepting the fact he made a mistake. Even that I was letting slide, but the last straw was when the waiter brought the bill he had wrote the amount for an 18% tip. I asked him to split my bill between to cards and he asked if I wanted to put the on one of the cards and I said I would like to write in my own tip. He comes back and lectures me that the with size of my party, which was three kids , two adults, and a toddler that had apple juice that it is customary to live 18% and he was going to leave what he had written out as a reference for my which was insulting to me. Little did he know I have an associates degree and a bachelor's degree and have taken plenty of math courses and I am more than capable of figuring the 18℅ tip that you suggest as a tip on as a note on all your bills making no reference to size of party. If his service was good I could have even wanted to leave 20% but your not going to leave my lemon out of my water that you confirmed, argue with my wife that she is wrong, write in your tip amount, insult my intelligence and expect to get 18%. For that I will never eat...
Read moreMy kiddo and I are from out of town visiting Cedar Point. We've eaten at this place before and were confident enough to go back, but honestly, this is the last time. I ordered the Chicken Hibachi and my son ordered Shrimp. My kid, being a bit picky, asked for extra rice in place of the vegetables in the hibachi dish and I was asked if I wanted rice with mine and said yes. They did not make it clear that the fried rice was an upcharge and charged us twelve extra dollars total on the bill, stating it was "clearly written on the menu". Well, brother, that restaurant is dark enough that I can barely make out the main listings on the menu, much less the fine print. The salads were okay and the miso soup passable, but that hibachi was utterly joyless. I don't throw out food that is not straight up inedible, so I did take most of mine to go. When I got the bill for seventy dollars, I was floored. For truly great food, that would have been bearable, but for that food, and with that previously stated misunderstanding with no apparent room on the server's part to meet us in the middle, it was just galling. It would seem that they have enough customers and don't need my patronage. I was sorely tempted to just forget any sort of tip, since the server kind of Karen'ed me, but I just left what I would consider the right tip for what we...
Read moreWent here on our vacation and was extremely disappointed. These are my favorite kind of restaurants, but unfortunately I have a shellfish allergy which we mentioned three times to the cook and server. When making our food, I scooted my plate towards me so the chef wouldn't put shrimp on my plate, but he did anyway. It took over 15 minutes just to order our drinks. Our poor waitress could barely speak english. When throwing rice, the chef switched it to zucchini instead and was not aiming at all. He mindlessly threw it behind all of us and just kept on cooking. The chicken fried rice had about 3 pieces of chicken each and they upcharge you for it. The portions are very small .I have been to at least 8 other hibachi restaurants and never had these problems before. This is the only hibachi restaurant I've left hungry from. An allergy could literally kill someone. If you come here just be aware they are careless when making your meal. I probably should have talked to a manager because almost $20 per plate then expecting $20 tip with service like that is ridiculous. This is my first one star review so that says a lot about the service...
