We went in last night. Nobody in the lobby except 3 employees, 2 of which were complaining to the 3rd about their schedule. We were greeted about 3 minutes after we walked in even though we were standing within feet of said employees. Two of them, then walked around the counter to take our order. They mentioned it would also be 35 minutes wait time. There were SO many employees in the kitchen. Every. Single. Person including the two standing in front of us were all eating popsicles. Cool, fine, but eat them out of sight, maybe? Maybe not when you’re literally talking with guests. Not one employee was wearing gloves and had their popsicle hands all up in the food. One girl walked by a container of something, stuck her bare hand in and ate whatever was in it. Then went about making food. I work in the food service industry, in management. I get people will say “if you knew what goes on in most restaurants…..” I know what goes on in most restaurants, trust me. But I also know this is the stuff that takes down restaurants that fail (in business and with the health department). With it being so new, I would think that our 5 minute experience there would have been something different. I guess when the new wears off, the dust settles and the big shots have cut the ribbon and have left, things change. We left, opted for Culver’s instead. So for starters i walked in and about 5 min later finally got to place my order. Im gonna list out what i ordered, what i got charged for, and what i got.
What i ordered: 15 Pc Boneless Combo For 2(15 Wings, 2 dips, large order of fries, 2 drinks) A regular order of cajun corn 1 extra ranch, 1 honey mustard
What i got charged for: 15 pc boneless combo(all the stuff above) A large order of cajun corn A large order of fries An bottle of cream soda A large drink
What i got: 15 wings Large order of fries (no seasoning) Large order of corn 2 fountain drink and a bottle of cream soda 2 thinfs of ranch and 1 fhing of honey mustard
So i got what i ordered basically except i paid for way more
Food quality was trash The fries were cold and soggy with no seasoning The corn was cold but seasoned The wings were like so unbelievably old. They were stiff and chewy. Not hot at all and had a very minute amount of sauce.
Above all else, no one in the kitchen was wearing gloves. The expo handing out food was literally chewing his nails the whole time was there and dude did not wash his hands. And the 3 women upfront spent much of the time dancing and gossiping with someone i assume to be the manager.
Again not trying to pick on anyone just calling it how i see it. This isnt new restaurant behavior this is like long john silvers with no funding left...
Read moreStaff is rude, manager pulls me aside INFRONT OF PEOPLE because I’m sorry if you are gonna be rude I am going to put you in your place. The online order said 10 minutes at 6:45PM I get to the place at 7:10PM. Employees look lost. Teenagers overwhelmed being RUDE AND SHORT, the manager felt as though it’s appropriate to tell me how to feel. It was never about the wait, it was about the interaction that he condoned. My food was cold, fries weren’t seasoned.
Wingstop is my favorite fast food. Sandusky may be a new location, but that doesn’t give the right to anyone to be unkind. I order from there time and time again, and I’m just really displeased with what took place. Be the change you want to see. You don’t want customers being rude, then it starts with the staff.
