The bar looked cozy. But we didn’t sit there. We sat in main hall in the middle booth. The middle lights/LED are really bright and shine in your eyes. I asked the server if she can dim it slightly, server said she would ask but I don’t think she did.
We came in around 140p. Server seemed rushed and kept coming back to take our order while my friend and I had just sat down and were catching up. Maybe their mode is to turn and rush tables, but there were quite a few open after 140p and a big menu to review.
We settled on the beet salad and BLT with fries after her coming by relentlessly four times. The beet salad was not great. Hardly any beets, mainly lettuce and the lemon dill vinaigrette had no taste of lemon or dill (or any taste of dressing at all). Mind you, the beet salad was $18. Do not get the beet salad until there are a bunch more beets in them for $18. I was expecting a true beet salad with bigger beets and should have asked instead of assuming.
Ultimate BLT, $17, just mediocre. The fries were rather flimsy.
If I came back, maybe breakfast will be ordered and I will give them a retry. Maybe, coming in near the end of the day (around 1:40p) on a Sunday, is not a good time after a breakfast rush. They closed at 3 and also, gave us a five minute warning that we needed to leave so they could clean....
Read moreI entered this fine dining establisment with my 2 year old daughter, and I'm pretty sure I heard another customer say that she looked like thomas the tank engine. I went to management about my issue and they said, but she is tho. Then I realized I was in a Chuck E Cheese, and not Cafe Bellini. I apoligized to chuck and went on my may. So then I went to cafe Bellini, but I realized that safeway was right there, and decided to get a beef loin, proscuito (8 strips), mushrooms, onions, mustard, puff pastry, and eggs. I seared the beef loin lightly on low and brushed it with mustard. Then i let the meat sit for about 20 mins. In the meantime, I threw the mushrooms and onions into the food processor, and poured the mixture in a pan to cook out all the water out of the mixture. Lay the proscuito next to each other and lay the mushroom and onion mixture flat over that. Take the meat and lay it on and proceed to wrap the loin with the proscuito and mushrooms. once rolled, I let it sit and took it out again to wrap it in a puff pastry. Once wrapped I egg washed the puff pastry, and put in in the oven at 325 for 20 mins. Once my beef wellington was finished, I sprinkled a generous amount of rock salt on top, and served...
Read moreAmbience was dark and loud difficult to hear all conversations at our table w/noise inside restaurant. Service was prompt and attentive our server was courteous and friendly paid attention to all the orders placed at table Food- all individual orders were hot served in a prompt and timely manner 5 different main plates ordered no issues with any of the main plates. I ordered the fish and chips received 3 generous portions of beer battered cod cooked nicely with a pleasant crispness to the batter and in a rarity the advertised shoestring French fries were legitimate shoestring fries and not simply thin cut. The fries were were crisped to perfection.
ONLY FOOD ISSUE- was the starter plate fir the table if Crispy Fried Calamari. They used a rough breading in the Calamari not the batter used on the vid. Not only was the Calamari not crispy it was under cooked and chewy. When brought to our servers attention she removed the dish from the table and the ticket. She offer to have it refused however the main dishes had arrived at the table. I would iveralk rare the experience 7 out of 10 and would dine there...
