I’ve always loved this place, the food is usually great and everyone extremely nice, but I don’t know what happened last time! I ordered the prosciutto and arugula pizza and the dough was completely falling apart, too cooked, crumbling in the middle, I guess because there was absolutely not cheese or sauce on it? It was basically a cracked overcooked dough with some ingredients thrown on it. I’ve never had a pizza like this especially for more than 20$... Hopefully it was just an accident and you can make it up to me!

We had the best time at dinner here. The best Italian BYO in Philly IMO. The veal Milanese is huge and insanely good. Perfectly tender and full of flavor. My friends got the risotto and gnocchi which were both also amazing. For apps we did their specials for the night which were eggplant parm and the fried Mozarella & tomatoes. Meal was perfect from start to finish and the staff were all incredible. Absolutely no notes will be coming back again soon.

Very very good Italian food located in pennsport! Wonderful intimate atmosphere with great service! If you are looking for a great BYOB in south Philadelphia you must come in and try this awesome Italian restaurant. We got the gnocchi, the artichokes, mushroom pasta and they even made home made chicken fingers for the baby! My food looked so good I forgot to take a picture of the entrees. Thanks again!

Had a very bad experience here. Reserved a table for 7 but added one more guest last minute. We were seated outside to begin with, but were then asked to move inside because another party that booked before us, was going to be placed at our table instead of us. Moved inside to an overcrowded room. Hardly any room to to even get to our table, and we were all squeezed in and uncomfortable.

We asked for an additional chair for our last minute addition and were told they couldn't provide one because they did not have any higher chairs left, for the higher table we were seated at. This is when the manager began to be very short and rude with our whole table. He made no attempt to accommodate us and proceeded to ignore our table for the remainder of the evening. They were short staffed that Saturday night, and they had a table of 20 booked, which led to fairly slow service. The waiter was very kind though, and it was not his fault in any way.

We had a blind/elderly woman with us, who was seated with her back to another table. The space between the chairs was tight, at no fault of our party member. The manager seemed to be going out of his way to be in our area, and kept on shooting dirty looks at our elderly guest because she wasn't able to slide her chair in further. Overall, he made us feel very uncomfortable and unwanted. It was so bad, it ruined dinner for a couple of our party members, which effectively ruined our evening, which we had been excited about for a while. The food was so so, but two of our party members felt nauseous after eating only a few bites of the pork. They had complained it smelled off, and later suffered nausea and stomach pains.

Needless to say, we won't be dining here again, despite this restaurant previously being on...

Absolutely Phenomenal!

I can’t recommend Aroma on 3rd enough! This charming Italian restaurant on 3rd Street in Philadelphia is a must-visit. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warm smiles and a cozy, inviting atmosphere. The rustic decor, soft lighting, and intimate seating made it the perfect spot for a memorable dining experience.

The food was exceptional!

We started with the burrata, which was fresh and creamy, paired perfectly with ripe tomatoes and a drizzle of balsamic. For our mains, the house-made pasta was out of this world — cooked to perfection and bursting with flavor. I highly recommend the Pappardelle Bolognese — rich, savory, and satisfying. My dining partner had the Chicken Parmigiana, which was crispy, tender, and topped with the best marinara we’ve ever tasted.

Service was impeccable. Our server was attentive, knowledgeable about the menu, and made great wine pairing suggestions. Every course arrived promptly, yet we never felt rushed.

Dessert didn’t disappoint either! The Tiramisu was light, creamy, and the perfect end to an incredible meal. You could taste the care that went into every dish.

If you’re in Philly and craving authentic Italian cuisine, Aroma on 3rd is the place to go. It’s a true hidden gem that delivers in every way — food, service, and ambiance. Five...

We had a delightful dinner here last night. We happened upon this BYOB after a rainy afternoon walk through the city. We peeked in the windows around 4:30 to see if there was a menu posted. Instead of shooing us away, the friendly waiter welcomed us into the restaurant and gave us a seat. We were wet and wearing very casual clothes. When I apologized for our appearance, the waiter said that we looked just fine to him and that "The habit does not make the monk". He is one of a rare breed of career waiters that grace some of the best restaurants in this city.

I have a severe gluten intolerance and the waiter handled my need with ease. Sadly, I could not take part in their homemade pasta (my husband however loved his), but they were kind enough to make a seafood dish with gluten free pasta. We had mussels in white wine sauce to start as well as a shrimp and broccoli rabe appetizer. Everything was superb. We both enjoyed the authentic Italian food prepared with precision and the upscale and professional service. The decor is romantic and intimate. I look forward to returning while better dressed and with a...
