This is my local grocer now and I absolutely love it. To the uninitiated, the store is a bit daunting because not everything has that "corporate polish" that you see in major grocers. Instead of that sheen, the store has nearly everything you need for Asian recipes on top of having a pharmacopoeia desk for traditional medicines. Not to mention, they have smoked and roasted duck ready for pickup for a quick and easy meal. The butcher's desk is somewhat intimidating as very few people speak fluent English but so long as you're polite and clear with your requests, they're more than happy to help you.

Once or twice every couple of months I'll visit these places. They are located in South Philadelphia and have been here for a long time. While not the cleanest food market, you're walking too. The stores hours are posted on the front door and on google. They are open until 7:30 pm. I arrived at the store at 7:16 pm and when I walked in the store they were grunting at me that they were closed. I said I just need a pack of noodles and they let me in, when I got to the noodle aisle they came and confronted me. They were not speaking english so I am not sure what they wer saying but they were aggressively coming at me to leave and it was still only 7:20pm. If you want to close at 7pm then you should post that on the door and online. People make plans and getting around Philadelphia is not easy to be aggressively pushed out of a store.
