Borromini — Restaurant in Philadelphia

We had a 9 p.m. reservation for our first visit. The restaurant is beautiful — think Italian version of Parc (though not very Italian). We were seated at the back on the first floor, where the noise level was very high.

The Squash Blossoms and Crostini Toscani were tasty starters, though the crostini lacked presentation. The Rabbit Cacciatore was the highlight, while the Carbonara Rigatoni was a bit too salty. The frozen lemon sorbetto was excellent; the chocolate cake just okay.

Good food and service overall, but nothing...

The staff are wonderful! I think Borromini must have made an effort to attract great employees and it's noticeable.

Otherwise, the food is such a disappointment. The taste was fine, but shocking portion size. The slice of lasagna was smaller than my wallet. My dinner guest's meal (I think it was spare rib ravioli) was no more than 5 noodles. We had a few other unmemorable items off the menu, the focaccia was good but unremarkable.

Reposting my review since they somehow got Google to reset/delete it (integrity???). TL;DR: the food was served cold, and our server silently dropped the check as we took our first bite of dessert without even asking how it was or saying “have a good night.” I’m sure feedback has been incorporated, but that doesn’t justify censoring customers’...
