Danny D's Pizza — Restaurant in Philadelphia

I purposely arrived early to get my pizza fresh and hot from the oven. They first tried to sell me a pie that had been sitting with a different name on the receipt. I said I don't want someone else's order and I was fine with waiting. Guy behind the counter said mine was on the way, about 10 minutes. Again fine with waiting so I'd get my pie fresh from the oven. 10 minutes later, he says "here you go" and it was a square pie, not the circle pie ordered. I mentioned the error, the guy shrugs his shoulders and hands me the pizza that had been sitting the entire time I was there. I asked if it was hot because it was sitting, he mumbled it was hot. Lukewarm at best. Tasted good, probably great if hot and fresh. The whole interaction described, someone appeared to be the owner just sat there, I won't be back. I'll pay top price for hot food and good service, I got none of the above. I could understand if it was busy but it wasn't. I only continued the purchase because my son and I waited long enough and were excited to try the new place. I shouldn't have to warm up a $25 pizza after a less than a block walk after that awkward and...

Update: 4 months later since my initial review. Is it me or is this place closed a lot? That's never a good sign.

I was really looking forward to trying this place out. What a huge disappointment! The staff was not welcoming at all. You just opened 2 weeks ago. You might want to work on that. My slice you see there looks good, but it was cold even though they said they warmed it up. $8 for that and a drink!!! Do yourself a favor, go to Pizza Shack or Pestos. They do 2 slices and a drink for $7!!! Oh and the patrons there also gave me a “bad vibe”. Who wants to eat at a place where you don’t feel comfortable...

Was excited to try this new pizza spot and it did not disappoint even heating up the leftovers the next day the quality was still great. I never had pizza on seeded bread until I had this and they definitely raised the bar. I ordered the spicy pepperoni pizza and the spice level was perfect not taking away from the flavor of the other ingredients 10/10 five stars and I can't wait to eat it again and am highly recommending it to my friends. As someone who is normally NOT a crust guy even that...
