I hesitated writing this because I love the owner as a super good guy and talented human, but the staff here is AWFUL. The first time I was here (4 months ago) I thought it was a fluke, but last night solidified it. Rude inattentive bartenders is unfortunately this places downfall. The drinks and food are “ok” nothing special; the atmosphere and music is great, but expect servers to not only make eye contact with you and then still ignore you, but deliberately begin restocking shelves, texting, and avoiding you. Much like the last persons review before mine, you make take umbrage? Get frustrated, or just not give them your patronage and leave, which is what we did. A kind woman let us into her partners seating space so we could try to get the attention of a server and order a drink before attending a show. My friend watched me try two different places to lean into the bar, hold my card out, smile at the staff and visually be spotted and ignored for over 15 minutes. I don’t know who trained or hired these people but they are dragging this place down, FAST. We’re all human, we get a busy sold out show is next door; just acknowledge your patrons and they will humbly wait, it’s pretty easy…and for an eclectic music driven venue, you are only served the stereotypical arrogance and moral superiority complex that propagates such stigmas. When I came back from the restroom to see if my friend had had any luck, the nice woman we chatted with let me know she was at the door waiting for me to leave; she said “why would I give them my money?” And I...
Read moreWe sat at the bar and only ordered two drinks and the service here was very slow. The prices of the food were pretty high so we decided not to order any food. We were completely ignored after ordering our first drink. I thought it was by accident at first. We tried ordering a second drink and finally were successful after about 10 minutes (half empty bar). Still fine, things happen. However, the amount of time it took for us to ask for the check and the interaction when asking was uncalled for (20+ minutes) while people to our left and right were consistently attended to for food and drink. When I finally mustered up the courage to ask “can we have the check please” to the nearby female bartender, she responded to me as if I were a child, pestering her the whole time we were there (this was the first time I finally asked after waiting for someone to recognize the accepted standard visual cue of an empty glass - no one ever asked if we wanted a refill or needed anything this whole time). She brought me the check immediately with what can only be inferred as a passive aggressive “have a nice day”. I am so puzzled as to why we were treated like this. We were quiet and kept to ourselves. The interior of this place looks so cool and we love the idea behind it, but after this unwelcoming experience, we don’t feel...
Read moreDoom, the name might be tongue in cheek as the experience was sadly subpar. The atmosphere is honestly great, but that is where the greatness ends. As my lady and I sat at the bar, we ordered two city wides(for $11, not very city wide), and then we were forgotten, like the ghosts this bar tries to convey. As other guests on both sides of us were served, we couldn't catch the bartenders attention if we were on fire. When we finally waved the lady bartender down after 22 minutes of no acknowledgement, she abruptly answered "yeah we will be with you", which brought me back to my childhood as I was pestering my overwhelmed mother. Doom, great idea and bar, below...
