We came into town for a conference and was looking for a place for dinner. We needed to order take away and I found this place which was close to our hotel. We ordered online and I walked to pick it up. It was a small place and there no one inside when I got there which was on a Tuesday evening. The person at the counter was preparing the order and greeted me quickly. She was very friendly. I got back to the room and the food was hot and fresh. I had the Dan Dan noodles with chicken and it was very good and a little spicy. The chicken was cooked well. We also had the bolognese and added mushrooms and bacon but the order did not have it when we opened it up in the hotel room. It was and extra $3 for it too. I also got a Ceasar salad which was good as well as an order of garlic bread which was ok. Overall the food tasted great and the portions were great for the cost. Besides the one dish missing the items I enjoyed the meal. Would have been five stars if the order was correct. I would go back and order again.

I was very excited for this place as it goes very well with my food philosophy of sourcing local ingredients to recreate even traditional dishes. But it ended up being a classic case of parts greater than sum. The pistachio pesto by itself was out of the world and the pasta was wonderfully fresh and cooked perfectly. But something was lacking in the dish - maybe it wasn't put together well. Similarly, the focaccia bread by itself was soft and spongy and the marinara sauce (had mushrooms added to it) was delicious but the loaded focaccia had a tad bit more cheese than I'd have liked. I also got a pound of their fresh pasta and this was perfect! Also freezes very well and they say it'd be two servings but I felt it was a bit more than two! Still a place worth checking out, and I greatly appreciate the hospitality of the people that run the place and their attitude.

Farina makes some great pasta dishes! Farina is our go-to when we are in town for a race. It’s a small, counter service pasta place that serves homemade noodles with a variety of different sauces, sides, and protein options. We like it because we don’t have to make a reservation - many other pasta places are booked the night before a race! Portions are just enough and always tastes great. I deducted 1 star because prices are a little high and there’s usually a decent wait if you order in. I recommend using the online ordering and picking up - wait time is much better. Go check it out! You may walk past it once or twice, like we did when we first visited 🙃 Just keep your eyes peeled for the sign and stairs that lead down into the restaurant, and you’ll know you’re at the right place.

Farina is an amazing little restaurant that serves great Italian food and meals. I had their chicken parmesan and loved every bit. However, what truly set them apart was their hospitality and amazing customer service.

I accidentally left my winter coat behind after devouring my meal. When I finally realized that my jacket was missing it was the next day. Unfortunately for me the restaurant was not open before I had to drive home. I returned home a few hours away and felt upset I left my jacket behind.

I called Farina and spoke to the manager when they opened. The manager placed my jacket in a safe place in the back and offered to ship it back to me as soon as they could. I offered to pay for the shipping but they said not to worry and never asked for a penny to send it back to me.

When my jacket arrived I not only had my jacket back but they provided me a free Farina t-shirt too. I will forever be a Farina fan and I look forward to eating there again when I return to Philadelphia.

Please go visit this amazing...

So this place is basically geared more for Takeout. My boyfriend and I came here to sit and dine and was expecting real utensils and dishes. Unfortunately, the food was given to us in those flimsy brown takeout boxes with plastic forks. Also their Customer service is Trash! Since this was our first time at this place my BF and I were both looking at the menu figuring out what to order, and instead of the owner Dan asking us if we had any questions, he putting on his jacket like he was about to leave, sat down and just stared at us at from the register. The other employees in the kitchen were looking at us with blank stare like a bunch of dummies. No greeting, asking us if were here for takeout or dine-in etcc. Just plain rude and disrespectful. IS THE LACK OF ACKNOWLEDGING CUSTOMERS AND GOOD SERVICE A PHILLY THING OR WHAT?? SOMEONE PLEASE TELL ME BECAUSE DISRESPECT SEEMS TO SPREAD IN PHILLY MORE THAN COVID!!! THIS IS HOW YOU...
