Since the pandemic most restaurants have revised their menus. Fishtown Tavern's burger was good before but now is bigger and better, earning it top spot on my personal 'best of' list.
The traditional sesame seed bun was toasted to perfection (soft in the middle, just a bit of crunch on the outside - the timing to get it in that goldilocks zone is measured in seconds not minutes). It was the right size for the beef patties (not too big, not too small). And it didn't fall apart, while eating.
The double patties were fresh and well cooked, goldilocks zone again, cooked through but moist. Each patty was about 4oz making this a very generous portioned meal.
Topped with very fresh lettuce and tomato. In addition to a coleslaw sauce, giving the otherwise traditional burger a unique signature.
It is the attention to detail that sets a great hamburger apart from the crowd, and Fishtown Tavern has over a dozen other burger places with 2-3 blocks. I haven't been to all of them post-covid, but have tried quite a few, and this is the only one I felt compelled to review (a couple are 4 stars and two would only get 1 star - I prefer to only write...
Read moreI’ve never left a review like this, but what I experienced here deserves to be called out. This place isn’t just “bad vibes” — it’s openly racist, intolerant, and dangerous. From the moment I walked in, I felt unwelcome — not because of the service, but because of the outright hostility toward anyone who didn’t fit a narrow, hateful mold.
The staff made derogatory comments like it was normal bar talk, and the decor included offensive imagery that should never be acceptable anywhere, let alone a public venue. Management clearly condones it, if not encourages it — which makes this more than just a bad bar. It’s a haven for bigotry.
If you’re okay with hate, maybe this is your scene. But if you believe in basic human decency, avoid this place at all costs. Report it. Speak out. This kind of establishment has no place in...
Read moreReally nice place the male bartender was very nice but the female bartender with blonde hair was rude to us as soon as we arrived we ordered 2 bahama mamas and a ice tea and tipped $5 even though she was rude and purposefully made our drinks with 0 alcohol and when one of us approached her to order another drink she immediately said no and ignored us then proceeded to say “I’m not serving you guys anymore cause of the tip” we were going to buy more drinks and tip more throughout the night !! But we liked the bar itself so we stayed and I went to the male bartender who was nice and as I was waiting to order my drink and get his attention the female bartender gave me a cocky smile and waved at me trying to be smart I had no idea was her problem was we did nothing to her and weren’t...
