Update 10/31/23 (nearly 2 years later): Their service has definitely improved and while I didn't get food for me but for someone else that wanted to eat from there, I ventured in again to get food for them. They said the food was very good and they were pleased overall. I returned about a month later for someone else, and once again, was told that everything was good. Since I was the one picking up the food and noticed that things were running a lot smoother, I decided to try something simple, a pastelillo de pollo. It was good enough and I'm not so hesitant to keep trying once in a while. One downfall is that sometimes you want something extra and they tell you that they have to charge you. While that's perfectly acceptable, they sometimes fail to add it to your bag. So they charged you but you don't get it, specifically with the mayo-ketchup, which I love to have with just about anything I eat from there. Brought up the stars from 1 to 3-4.

Restaurant located by convenience but totally inconvenient. This place has gotten worse and worse over the years. Since Covid, they have been beyond disorganized with how they are servicing the customers. I understand that some customers do not follow instructions and that dealing with customers is not easy, however as a restaurant that serves the public, they really have absolutely no sense of customer service and treat people as though they are inconvenienced whenever a customer enters their establishment. On top of an already sour attitude from the staff and an extremely long wait time, the food is less than mediocre and to boast that they are an authentic Puerto Rican restaurant is an insult to true Puerto Rican food. They may have the dishes but the food is no longer up to par. My most recent experience was ordering over the phone a whole chicken with french fries, being told that it'll be 20 minutes, walking over, and still having to wait on line for 15 just to pick up the food because there was no differentiation between orders being placed in person to those that were ordered over the phone. To make matters even worse, the chicken literally looked like it was dropped on the floor, stepped on, then served on the platter. I could not even tell what was what and the entire chicken was completely dismantled to almost a shredded state. Very disappointed but it's the last time I would ever order or...

I want to fair but very honest with my review. I live in Delco, but I've been going for years when I worked near there. I mostly got quick Lunchs to go. And they have a history of having good food. After a couple of years went back 2 times to dine in. The first time they my wife got chicken was very dry and seamed old. Along with our beans. Depending what time you go especially late you might get old food. I'm thinking they don't want cook more or just salveg what they have left. The 2nd time was just last week was the worst and I haven't been back since. They start to pick times to not take credit cards just cash. Even though at your table they are signs they take credit cards. I go to pay for my meal and they tell me no cards. Now I did just lose my debt card. But even if I didn't they wanted me to use there ATM that has a $4.50 surcharge. The manager was rude from the beginning. No sympathy. If I didn't have my family he deserved a punch in the face. It took another employee to call the owner. And he allow them to take my card. So they can take it but choose not to. And allow employee to fight with you about it. Food is good but they are little expensive and there are many other spots in North Philly with good food and much better service try...

The food was delicious. Place is a little tight tho and too many servers just sitting. You should consider opening a location in baltimore for those of us that can't take the 1.5 hrs drive to your rest. often.

Unfortunately, I went back this past Saturday and it was a complete shock. As soon as we entered, we hear this loud woman yelling that there was no rice, beans and what not. She was eating on the corner of the counter, which was of poor taste. Some people left but we decided to stay and give it a try. This guy starts to take our order. We order what we could from what they had left. Once we ordered, we went to sit down and he asked "oh, are you eating here or taking it?" We said , "no, we are eating here". Then he sent someone to take our order, to whom we explained what had happened. She walks away with an attitude and yells, "table 12 ordered out but is eating here!" What an embarrassment! Then the guy that took our order came to the table, snatched the ticket out of my brother's and says that is more money for eating in." Like, 😮. All of that for nothing. Food was cold and old. The only good things about the whole ordeal were the cola champagne. I DO NOT RECOMMED THIS...

I visited this place back in 2018, and while the food was good then, the design was very basic. I recently returned and was impressed by how beautifully the space has been updated it truly looks great now. Unfortunately, the food quality has gone downhill, which is really disappointing. The papa rellena had undercooked meat, and we ordered rice guisado but were served plain white rice. We also asked for tostones without garlic, but they brought them with garlic anyway. When I pointed it out, they simply rinsed them off and served them back not even a fresh plate. I could still taste the garlic on the first bite. Sadly, I had a really bad experience. I won’t be coming back, and I truly hope they reconsider the quality and attention to detail, because the place has so much potential.

I've been in Philadelphia for the last 6 months working on Uber and lyft, i always wanted to visit this restaurant, and today I went, and i will come back, the atmósfere is pleasant and remembered me being at home, I was raised on La Perla old San Juan and I felt at home, the food ? Uuufff that's the grandma's rice and beans flavor yummy, the steak and lobster 🦞 😋 👌 delicious, the price is super for the kind of food i ordered it will be over 80.00 anywhere here on Philadelphia, thanks so much Rose 🌹 my waitress for explaining me the menu and take care of me, God bless you guys, I'll see you soon again 💪🏻🇵🇷🔥💖

They offer dining in now! I was able to find their menu online and called to place my order. I drove over to pick up the order and found the Restaurant quite full of customers. After I paid, I found that they gave me only half of my order. Fortunately, I was able to find the other bag where the rest of my order sat in an unmarked bag. I went home to sample my pollo, habichuelas, carne guisada, tostones and pasteles. Everything was delicious, but the pasteles were a bit dry. I still recommend this place for Puerto Rican food but it has gotten a bit more expensive. 🇵🇷👍🏼🤠👋
