If possible, I'd leave a separate review for dining in versus takeout.
This is a great atmosphere for getting some work done. I love the seating against the window for the people watching and for the opportunity to alternate between sitting in a bar-height chair and standing while working on my laptop.
This is NOT a place you can pop in and grab a quick coffee/breakfast on your way to work. I have missed many buses while watching the staff take and prepare orders with no sense of urgency whatsoever. Even if you order ahead on the Ritual app, it can take 15-20 minutes for an iced coffee to be ready. Do not expect to be able to get your order quickly, regardless of how few people are in the establishment or in line ahead of you.
The food is decent but a bit overpriced for a coffee shop. Closer to what I'd expect to pay at a brunch restaurant with table service and a full bar (I think there is a full bar, actually, but only when there is a performance in the theater).

Read moreI come here all the time and I really love what I get every time. However, I'm really tired of them closing the kitchen down whenever they feel like. They close at 5 so it would make sense to close the kitchen at 4, however that's not always the case. I've walked over here several times in the 3:00 range and the kitchen is closed. I've asked when the kitchen closes so I know for future reference and I get told that it's different everyday. That's a bit ridiculous tbh. And I'm not asking for anything crazy, I always get a bagel with cream cheese. He even told me that they have the bagels, but the kitchen is closed. I have no problem with a coffee shop stopping food orders early but at least pick a consistent time. Especially when the online ordering doesn't indicate food being...
Read moreI will caveat that my experience may be based at the time of day we purchased. TLDR: Mediocre, overpriced sandwiches with very limited selection and unhygienic staff.
My partner and I were staying in the doubletree next door and decided to order from here since it was close. Our pickup order got cancelled twice because they ran out of all bagels. Then, we ordered in person and were told we could do either sourdough or multigrain (we picked the former). After waiting 20 minutes, we were given the latter. The sandwiches were not only comically small but also mediocre tasting - all for $9. In addition, all throughout the order, one of the employees was consistently picking his nose while still handling the coffees and food. Would...
