As someone who has traveled to Tbilisi and experienced the extraordinary cuisine of Georgia firsthand, I approach Georgian restaurants with high expectations.
My wife is Georgian, so we have made it a mission to seek out the best Georgian food wherever we go. After visiting countless restaurants, I can confidently say that Megobari is unmatched.
The food at Megobari is the closest I’ve had outside of Georgia to the authentic experience of dining in Tbilisi. From the moment you step inside, the warmth of the Georgian spirit - hospitality, generosity, and passion for food - shines through.
The khinkali (dumplings) are perfectly crafted, bursting with juicy flavor. The khachapuri is everything it should be: the dough airy and soft, the cheese rich and tangy.
Their assortment of fresh salads, hearty stews, and grilled meats showcase the diversity of Georgian cuisine, and they don’t hold back on the bold flavors and spices that make Georgian food so unique.
What truly stands out is the attention to detail. The ingredients are fresh, the recipes are traditional, and the dishes are prepared with the kind of love and care that makes you feel like you’re sitting at a supra.
For anyone who loves Georgian food or is curious about trying it, Megobari is a must-visit. It’s not just a restaurant - it’s a slice of Georgia right here, and it’s absolutely the best...

As soon as you walk into Megobari Cafe, the warm and cozy ambiance immediately sets the tone for a memorable dining experience. The interior feels inviting and authentic, and even the bathroom is impressively decorated—clearly, attention to detail matters here.
We started with the pkhali assortment, which was just okay for my taste—I’d give it a 5/10. But things took a sharp turn for the better with the soups. The kharcho was absolutely bursting with flavor—rich, hearty, and deeply satisfying. A solid 10/10. The borscht soup was also enjoyable with a nice tang and balance—I’d rate it 8/10.
Then came the Adjarian khachapuri—a showstopper. The gooey cheese, the runny yolk, and the crispy bread all combined into a dish that left us speechless. Easily a 10/10.
We finished with khinkali—one order with beef and one with cheese. The beef was the star: juicy, flavorful, wrapped in thin, delicate dough. Another 10/10. The cheese version didn’t quite hit the mark for me—I’d say 3/10.
Overall, Megobari Cafe is a hidden gem in Northeast Philly. Authentic Georgian flavors, cozy vibes, and standout dishes make it well worth a visit—I’ll...
