i really wanted to like this place

i ordered take out bc the reviews were high and i was really craving yummy pho broth

i got the skinny bahn mi and beef pho and chicken pho

i go to pick up my order and the receipt says $10 over what’s expected based on their website i ordered off of , so i ask the hostess why it’s so high, who then shows me prices on their physical menu in store that are higher than those listed on the website. i was like ?? but i ordered based off the website prices? so she gets the manager.

of course he doesn’t actually come out so she just reports back that he said the website wasn’t updated and there’s nothing that can be done. that’s some BS lol so i had to pull a karen (not really) and ask to speak to him myself

mr.jean capris arrives and tells me the same, the guy who runs the website (prob him himself lol) forgot to update the prices online. i said i totally understand that happens but i ordered based off the website prices or else i wouldnt have ordered. he gave me a little huff and puff and said “fine i’ll give you a discount (discount? you mean the actual price of the food i ordered online?😀), i’m just trying to run a business” okay fine great, i’m just trying not to get scammed by greedy business owners 💗 whatever. bit of annoying interaction but if the food is good it’ll make up for it (spoiler: it wasn’t)

i get my order and leave, open it up at home for my bf and i and THEY PUT NO GODDANG BROTH IN THE BAG!! WHAT!!?

god we were so pissed. THATS THE WHOLE POINT OF PHO??? now all i have is two bowls of rice noodles with onions and a little meat. for 35+ dollars (with the discount lolz). my “discount” should be 90% off at this rate…

so now after my long day where i just wanted some pho, i have to MAKE SOME BROTH AT HOME!!!!???

so i did that. the beef was fine/ standard.

the chicken meat was nasty i didn’t even eat it. it was rubbery, chewy, with boiled rough pieces of skin (not the tasty type of chicken skin) in it too

as for the bahn mi, there is a CONVENIENCE STORE near me that makes better ones. the bread here is pretty crap, not a good bahn mi baguette, pork was dry af and no flavor, and they give you 3 of them , about 3-4 inches each. the bread to meat ratio is like 75% bread. absolutely not worth $15 for the “skinny bahn mi”

anyways, we won’t be back again!

don’t waste your time or money here. and mr.jean capris , update your...

🌿 Miss Saigon Vietnamese Restaurant & Lounge – Service, Flavor & Flow 📍 Miss Saigon on Google Visited: July 10, 2025 | Let’s Do Lunch, Center City!

I had the absolute pleasure of dining at Miss Saigon for an impromptu lunch with one of my favorite people—and from the moment we walked in, we were met with warmth, ease, and an attention to service that deserves recognition.

💫 Service First Our server Sarah was the standout of our visit—gracious, attentive, and deeply familiar with the menu. Her thoughtful guidance made the entire experience seamless. She’s the kind of team member every restaurant should be proud to have—genuine hospitality paired with sharp execution.

🍽️ Let’s Do Lunch Promotion We participated in the “Let’s Do Lunch, Center City!” promo, which includes one shared appetizer and two entrées. Here's what we ordered—and would absolutely order again:

Appetizers:

Beef Thịt Nướng Skewers – Tender, marinated, and grilled to perfection.

Vegetarian Spring Rolls (added on) – Crispy, light, and flavorful. Worth the add-on.

Entrées:

3 Beef Phở – Deep, rich broth with brisket, round eye, and beef ball. Comfort in a bowl.

Pork Bánh Mì – Perfectly balanced with lemongrass-marinated pork, fresh herbs, pickled veggies, and crispy fries on the side.

Everything was fresh, well-seasoned, and plated with care. You could taste the quality.

💳 Transparency Note: A 20% gratuity is added to all dine-in checks, and a 3% credit card fee applies—both clearly noted on the menu.

⭐ Final Take Miss Saigon isn’t just pretty—it’s intentional. If you’re looking for great Vietnamese food, standout service, and a place that delivers on flavor and experience, this spot belongs on your list. I’ll definitely be back—and I’ll be asking for Sarah....though I get the vibe everyone there...

Decided to come here for my birthday dinner, after coming here previously for drinks & appetizers. We were seated upstairs at a booth, & i was excited to celebrate my birthday. In the middle of conversation I saw a bright light which was my friend’s hair CATCHING ON FIRE because of candles they had placed on top of the booth, right behind people’s heads. We had no idea they were real candles since they were in tall glass containers. WHY THEY HAD CANDLES BEHIND PEOPLES HEADS I WILL NEVER UNDERSTAND. Customers should never have to worry about catching on fire while trying to eat dinner. Thank goodness my other friend was sitting beside her to help put out the fire, but even so the whole room smelled like burnt hair and there was smoke in the air (enough that all the other customers upstairs noticed). Although the waitress was attentive & apologetic, the management was beyond unprofessional. It took OVER 20 minutes for any manager to approach us, & we had to ask the waitress twice if he was ever coming to address the situation. She told us the manager had said something along the lines of “Just keep them happy” which just added insult to injury. When he eventually came to the table he was very dismissive & uncaring. The manager even tried to talk over my friend who was very calm, given the scariness of the situation. While they did comp some of the bill, they did try to make us pay half of it which was even more disconcerting. When my friend followed up the next day, we were told there was no CCTV of the incident, which I find very hard to believe. Overall, I will NOT be returning because of the way management handled this safety hazard. They don’t care about their customer’s safety, ladies & femmes watch out...

We make sort of a misjudgment to dine here the same night that a pride parade had been happening in the same neighborhood. So, there was a fun and festive and pleasant air of celebration, but, crowds also. And in the hours prior to our visit the place had apparently been very busy, and perhaps their labor capacity had been sort of overrun by the volume and pace of business that day. Good for them. I hope that had a prosperous day of business. So, that’s sort of an extenuating circumstance that may have affected the quality of the food and service when we visited. And I do take the meal I had there with a grain of salt, and I would consider visiting here again on a slower night. My date had an order of small banh mi sandwiches, and fresh summer rolls, which initially came out of the kitchen as fried spring rolls that we sent back. The oxtail pho I had, well, let’s just say the oxtail was completely undercooked. I don’t expect the meat to be falling off the bone, but none of the collagenous tissue on the oxtail had softened-up, the way I would expect with similar oxtail pho I’ve had elsewhere. The side of beef rib I ordered to accompany the pho was a generous and huge cut and nicely braised, delicate, and tender. If I had to order the pho dish again, that’s what I would have ordered, and I would have passed on the oxtail. The pho bowl itself was insufficiently small and the broth was almost displaced over the edge of the bowl upon the immersion of the rib meat and bean sprouts and jalapeño. See photo. The maximalist decor made for a fun and celebratory atmosphere.
