What just happened to me? This used to be an Old Nelson so it took me a moment. I’m sick, stressed beyond repair, with eye infection and my ear phones were in but I asked the person on other end to hang on as I gathered myself at counter. I counted out 13 for my 12.15 total and SLID the money across the counter to cashier (didn’t catch her name but this happened in past hour). Cashier went on a lecture about “I don’t know who raised you or how old you are, but you don’t SLIDE money, you HAND it….” Much more as well but I was disassociating in a panic attack about what was going on. Profusely apologized and picked up and HANDED her the cash. Thanked her for teaching me a lesson about politeness. I then numbly left, tearing up forgetting napkins and forks that I needed. (I also forgot my drink). I will never go back here. That was beyond upsetting. And screw her, as far as I know that is not true and I have worked in soooo many cash industries. Maybe she was having a bad day working on a holiday and took it out on me, but she doesn’t know what other people are going through. Im going to work, I’m having a horrifying day without having to spell details. That cashier was so unkind and out of pocket (who does that?). I can act polite to your face as much as you want but you’re crazy if you think I’m not going to warn consumers THIS IS NOT OLD NELSON ANYMORE, do not go to pret....
Read moreI'm back. Two months later. Why do I keep coming back? The people are nice and the food, when you can get it, is good and it's healthy. I'm reducing the stars from two to one. No small cups, I'll just take a medium; they no don't care. It's breakfast, so I'm told there's no lunch food. Oh, and there's very little breakfast food either. It's like the people who work at Pret have little clue why they're there. The menu is unreliable and unpredictable. Several weeks ago I stoppedby@ 7:30 AM and they had lunch wraps and no breakfast omelets today they tell me, at 10:30 AM, no wraps, omelets, just lunch salads. The chef is like the wizard in Oz. He or she has all the control. Why do I return?!?!! Oh, well. If they don't care, why should I?!??
In an effort to provide customer service the counter experience is soooooo slow. Walked in at 9:35; 5 minutes to train departure; waited and waited for the one person working the counter to end service to the person in front of me. "Do you want berries with your oatmeal? Are you paying with a credit card? Hold your card for just a moment. Please insert your card." IT'S A TRAIN STATION. People are trying to CATCH A TRAIN. Needless to say at 9:45 I was on the train minus a delicious egg white omlet and I'll think twice before stopping for the slow service again. Who has one open register in a...
Read moreI had the chance to eat here twice today. In the morning had the egg white, spinach, mushroom fritata and orange juice, it was very good. In the early evening returning to the train home, since the morning experience was favorable, I thought something for dinner would be good. The tomato feta soup was very good, not much you can do to mess up a can of Coke. The big disappointment was the "grilled" cheese sandwich, which bore no resemblance to something that had been grilled. I thought it odd it was in the cold section, there was no signs that the bread had been anywhere near something that would have grilled it. What I got was two slices of rather good bread with something greasy sprayed on the outside with two slices of cheese and a few of cheese crumbs that looked like dry cheese had been crumbled. All together, the bill came to just under $20.00. I am a bit conflicted about the whole experience. The sign said closed @ 6, I was there @ 5:45 and from the way the staff acted, they had...
