Royal's Restaurant — Restaurant in Philadelphia

I was set to go to the other restaurant next door. Someone told me NO... go to Royal's. I moved here from Houston in December and have been seeking out good BO RESTAURANTS. I was skeptic because he was OVER excited to tell me about it.

I try to ALWAYS support BOB's and even encourage others. Even when the customer service is terrible I still go...

BUT ROYAL'S... not only do you all OOZE amazing customer service ... I can tell someone is well versed in customer service skills and should definitely teach other BOB's how to not only provide a high level of service but RETAIN their customers.

They knew their customers by name... the gentleman asked me what was I going to order the next time I came...(skill)

The young ladies were supporting each other... They were looking me in the eye to assist with my order... I felt like they were reading my facial expressions while I waited on my order... even with a line in front of them.

I late ordered some greens... after the young lady allowed me to taste them ... (yes they give samples) which was DELICIOUS by the way.

The young lady let the kitchen know... I mean I heard her...but after about 2 minutes I had a container of greens... She went back and put the greens together for me!

TO TOP ALL OF THIS OFF....

ALL OF THE FOOD WAS DELICIOUS!!!!

I'll be back to order the fried Whiting, greens and macaroni and cheese for sure...

I normally go to Norma's where I've never been disappointed or if something is off they fix it. Yesterday I ordered a brown Stew chicken, mac n rice & peas, jerk sauce on the rice (my usual at a Caribbean restaurant). I pay first which is normal practice here, when she went to give me change i told her "keep it". She calls me up for my order, opens the platter showing me what i ordered, as much as i order the same food, immediately i saw that the rice was slightly over cooked and there was no jerk sauce on the rice. Unlike Norma's, Royal's doesn't season their rice, its rather bland, so i say to the employee "there is no jerk sauce on the rice" She goes "oh your right" proceeds to take the order back to the cook and request that he put jerk sauce on it, after a slight word exchange with the cook comes back and goes "its on there he just put it under" Im like "okay" I drive to my house sit down and prepare to eat, starting with the rice. I got the biggest scoop of bland overcooked rice ever. You ever be expecting a taste and when its not there ruin ya whole meal. Is this how yall treat tipping customers blatantly lie to my face. Normally i take pictures for google, and keep my emotions out of it, when i review places but this one hurt personally. The...

They would literally take my order and then when I get there, coming all the way from DEEP IN SOUTH PHILLY by the stadiums, tell me that they gave the last of something that I ordered away because that person paid over the phone. That's BS. This isn't the first time that this has happened. My own fault for going back a second time. WILL NEVER ORDER FROM THERE AGAIN. Got me wasting gas and my time to not have what I ordered. The Manager said for them to give what I ordered to the person because they paid over the phone. If they had time to make a group decision, then I deserved a phone call especially since my order was placed before theirs. Instead of calling to let me know that is the case so that I can make my decision to still get the rest of the food or not, they tell me when I get there... causing me to leave anyway and going to Ron's or even next door instead. If you're pregnant, don't have cravings and then trust them to fulfill that for you. It's BS EVERYTIME. They lost a customer and I will spread the word to everyone I know including the news station that I work at to...
