Ryan's Pub Manayunk — Restaurant in Philadelphia

Went here for the first time 04/17 with my husband and I will say it was busy. I knew what I was getting into as it was karaoke night and thirsty Thursday. The male bartenders were nothing short of amazing. They were friendly, kind and kept giving cool ideas on drinks. They could tell I was older and wanted to try new drinks and I wasn’t being picky and was enjoying what they were having me try. The girl bartender i had; had brown hair and had a black shirt on and was ignorant. I said hello and tried to be kind and ask her for a good drink choice she recommends, she told me “you see the alcohol on the wall I have” then she walks away and comes back a few minutes later. I was a bit confused so I waited for her to come back and I asked again thinking she misheard me?… not the case… she responded “I don’t have time for this tell me what you want…. What do you want”. I was just taken back by her ignorance. Im not sure what her issue was but she is for sure is not a good bartender to have behind your bar. Your bartenders should be smiling, she wasn’t but the men were!, they should know a good drink to sell too and fast .. and didn’t have 1 recommendation and gave me an attitude for asking her to do her job???. Im so so confused???? Why be a bartender and be so miserable?. Im not some young kid and she treated me ignorantly as I was such but here’s the thing, why do they even deserve that ?!!?.. She was slamming this attitude to everyone there. I’ll be back though because one crappy bartender with poor customer services skills won’t deter me from a good spot to party and feel young again at … especially where you can sing and dance!. I had zero other issues and had a blast besides her. She was just the worst and ultimately I left because of her.

There is a lot of college kids / early 20s and it’s a whole vibe if you like that but it will get packed and fast. When it’s karaoke you should get your name on the list as the list fills up quickly. They only rules we were told was have fun and no screaming into the mic - basic respectful rules!.

Waited over 30 minutes and had no service. Multiple servers walked right by our table and served other tables. When we finally asked someone who our server was, the response was "I don't know". That individual eventually came back and waited our table for the rest of the night, although you could tell it was not supposed to be his job. Most of the other staff seemed too occupied with talking with their friends who were at other tables instead of lending a hand. When we finally got our food an hour later, the orders were incorrect. It was then stated that it was last call (at 10:45pm). Close time on the website was midnight. We ordered a last round of drinks which didn't come until closer to 11:10. Bad experience 1/23/23 . I’ve been going to Ryan’s consistently for about a year now . Great food and drinks . On two separate occasions though I had the same experience with a particular bartender named Sophia who tried double charging me. I’ve worked in restaurants for years I’m aware of the scam. She gets away with it often hoping that the customers are too drunk to realize. Her attitude was horrible when we pointed it out she got very sassy . She didn’t even apologize. We brought it up to the managers attention but he brushed it off claiming that she’s going through a lot . But this has happened twice with her . Would not recommend going here . They condone their bartenders taking advantage of the customers and offering 0% customer...
