Perfect comfort food to warm up this week 🥶 #philly #phillyfood #phillyfoodie #indianfood

Some of the best halal food I’ve had! I had the goat biryani and the lamb roganjosh, as recommend to us by our wonderful waiter. I felt like I was back home eating food that my mother made. The lamb biryani was flavorful and fragrant with the meat so tender, it was falling off the bone - paired with the raita, it was perfection. The lamb roganjosh had such a flavorful sauce with the lamb cooked perfectly, which paired wonderfully with the soft garlic naan and the prepared white rice. All the deserts are made in house! So I had to get the gulab jamun which was slightly crispy on the outside with such a soft interior and a sweet sauce. The kulfi was perfectly unique with and abundance of mixed pistachios with its ice cream base. Overall I would recommend this place to any and everybody due to how wonderful the service was, how the food was perfectly prepared, and how great the atmosphere was.

We came from New York to eat at this restaurant and were impressed by the excellent reviews. We ordered basmati rice, malai kofta, naan, and fish curry. I’ve been going to Indian restaurants for nine years, including places in Toronto and Calgary, and based on that experience, I found the white rice not very aromatic it didn’t seem to be of the highest quality. I was also quite disappointed with the fish curry, as it reminded me of store-bought Indian meals, which, to be honest, I sometimes find more flavorful. On a positive note, the naan was great, and the malai kofta was excellent! The atmosphere is very pleasant as the music is played at a comfortable volume, which we really appreciated.

We were treated very rudely when we visited and asked if the restaurant had beef options—a normal question, especially considering many Indian restaurants in the U.S. serve a wide variety of dishes for diverse customers, including Indian Christians like us.

The server (who also appeared to be the manager/owner) was disrespectful and even removed water from the table when we asked for a few minutes to order. When we left, we calmly mentioned the attitude was poor, and he told us to “go eat somewhere else.”

What’s worse is the owner’s public response to our review, where they compared our question to “asking for pork in a Muslim restaurant”—a completely unnecessary, religiously insensitive comparison. This reply reflects ignorance and a lack of professionalism.

We hope others read both sides and decide for themselves—but respect and customer service should never...

If I could give zero stars, I would. I rarely leave reviews, but the level of rudeness at this place was something else. From the moment I walked in, the staff acted like I was inconveniencing them just by being there. No greeting, no smile — just cold stares and bad attitude.

When I politely asked a question about the menu, I was met with eye rolls and a snappy response like I was bothering them. The service was painfully slow, and when the food finally came out, it was mediocre at best — bland, oily, and definitely not worth the price.

To top it off, they acted like doing their job was a favor to me. Zero customer service, zero hospitality, and just straight-up disrespectful energy. Save your money, your time, and your dignity — go...
