I first came here on a whim May 2, and the nail tech Sean did my gel Mani and also my pedicure. I was not happy with my gel Mani because I found that he only put two layers of gel and the layers of gel were so thin that I could see straight through to my nail bed. So I ended up re-visiting to give them a second chance on May 23rd. I figured if I told someone to put more than two layers of gel on my nails that would resolve the problem with the coats being too thin. By Monday which was only four days later, my gel manicure begin to lift and Chip the same as it had done the last time I got my nails done here. Coincidentally, my nail tech with Sean again. Of course at this point, I am very upset because I decided to revisit the nail salon and I thought I found a solution to the problem. Clearly I hadn’t, so Tuesday afternoon after I had gotten off of work I’ve visited the nail salon and I ended up speaking with who I believed to be the manager. Her name was Mei (pardon if my spelling is incorrect.) I showed her my bonus card and the date that I had gotten my manicure,& I showed her how my nails had to get to chip & peel. She told me that she would fix my nails no problem, but I advised her that I could not stay at that moment so I would revisit the following day which was Wednesday, May 29. After I got off of work May 29, I revisited the nail salon and she was not there. And it made me so unbelievably angry and I was so disappointed because she knew that she was not going to be there. And of course now my nails have gotten worse. I am at the point that I never want to return in order to have her fix my nails because I believe they are cutting the gel with some sort of solvent or acetone which is making it thin. I have never, and I mean never had an experience with gel that was so thin that I could see straight through it. And I’ve definitely never had an experience twice in the same month, where days after I had gotten a gel manicure my nails begin to chip. I’m a north philly girl, I know a good mani and this was not...
Read moreI tried this place for convenience and went in for a dip manicure. I had gotten it done before in Old City so I thought I knew what to expect. I was wrong. The process took 2 whole hours and was overall a nightmare. The lady kept using the electric file (that sander thing, whatever it is called) through the entire process, which made me cringe as I know it is NOT good for my already frail nails. She didnt want to touch my cuticles or even trim my nails, I had to specifically stop her and make her do it as I like my nails short. Normally, nails salons will ask you how you want your nails, this woman didnt care what I wanted. She proceeded to put on three layers of the dip, it seemed overkill to me but I tried to be patient and trust her. I was frustrated when, after all those dips, she proceeded to sand away half of it with that electric thing. Why?! Why put on so much to then go back and take it off?! Overall a nightmare. My nails looked uneven, they started chipping within a week (usually the dip lasts way longer, my last one at least lasted 3 weeks still looking amazing aside from growth). Last night, barely a week after getting my nails done, I tried to take the dip off my nails since they looked grotesque. It took a full hour of me wrapping my fingers in foil over and over again because the dip was just caked and sanded on so badly. I will never come back here again and I am likely never to get the dip again either....
Read moreI've gone here several times and they have generally done an ok job. I just do pedicures, nothing special. But they do a hot stone massage, so it's nice. However, this time not so great. I brought my laptop to work while the lady did my nails. She never stopped to ask me if I liked the color I chose, which all of the other techs have done, and by the time I looked over, it was too late to say, oh no! Not barbie pink! I wanted pastel! But I figured it'd be off in 2 weeks so whatever. Well then I go to pay and it's $50 instead of $30. I'm like no, I just wanted the basic! She goes no, you asked for gel! I said no I didn't, I just picked from the colors you handed me to look at! So now I'm out $50 and at home painting my nails to a color I can live with for the next 6 weeks. I know there were miscommunications in there but I was explicit in saying I wanted the "$30 basic pedi". Also, note they only take cash or venmo, but the atm charges $2 and they add 8% to venmo transactions. There's plenty of other nail places in the neighborhood so I'll be...
