Sutton's — Restaurant in Philadelphia

COVID UPDATE: Quick update to my earlier review. In the covid era, this is the absolute best place to go. Their outdoor space is a beautiful oasis in the city. It is also super comfortable and has a TV! Plus, they are keeping the place super clean and socially distant, with hand sanitizer on every table.

Original review: We stumbled upon Sutton's last night for drinks and found the perfect bar. It's basically a high-end, classy version of an Irish bar, but still with neighborhood prices. And there's actually sports on tv! They have an excellent beer list and dinner looks incredible. The bar is beautiful- the attention to detail is incredible. And they have a perfect back outdoor space, with a tv! We enjoyed ourselves so much that we came back this morning for brunch - their first day of serving brunch. The food is some of the best I've had - baguettes baked on the premises, a croque madame with perfect proportions... I could not recommend somewhere more highly for brunch,...

After a long day of decorating, We made our way to Sutton’s, one of the few places with a 4.9 rating on Google and a 4.8 on Yelp. Reviews really do matter.

From the moment we walked in, Correna (I hope I spelled that right!) gave a warm, welcoming greeting, and we think that’s one of the reasons this place has such a stellar rating. Not only was the service fantastic, but the food didn’t disappoint either. We went with two orders of wings (Thai Chili and Buffalo), fries, and a side of Brussels sprouts.

The wings were perfectly cooked—baked rather than fried—with just the right amount of flavor. The Brussels sprouts had a great balance of sweetness and vinegar, without being overwhelming. The fries were thick and satisfying, and Correna made sure we didn’t leave a single bite behind.

Came by Suttons after an afternoon visit to the Neon Museum nearby. When we came in it was pretty empty but by the time we left the bar was bustling with locals.

The vibe was very chill and I enjoyed interacting with the employees, who provided great service. In terms of beer and cocktail options, the draft list was above average and the cocktails were made very well. The liquor selection was lacking, but that's likely not the reason most people would visit to begin with.

Finally, we ordered the Buffalo wings and fried chicken sandwhich. The wings were only okay, however the chicken sandwhich was really great.

I'd definitely come back the next time I'm in the neighborhood.
