Tamalex Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Philadelphia

Food was good but unfortunately have to give this place one star since I got SCAMMED in the restaurant. There was a woman in the restaurant selling roses and she said they were for her mother with cancer. As someone with a parent with cancer I immediately felt for her and proceeded to buy one from her. The waiters were around so I assumed that they knew this woman until her backstory seemed a bit sus. She first asked for my phone to add the payment in my messenger and then when that failed wanted to do cashapp. She added the total to my account and charged me for the flower until I noticed the charge was for 20 dollars for a singular rose. I realize that giving her the money was on me but why let this woman in the restaurant in the first place? She proceeded to bother other customers until the owner finally told her to leave but never again will I be back! Totally...

This is a cute hidden gem near front and south. It’s priced reasonably and has great service. They serve food til 11pm i believe and close at 11:30pm. The ceviche was okay i wish it was shrimp with a little less mango but it was still tasty. It also was plated nicely. As for the tacos they are great. We had steak and shrimp. The steak was made really well (as in good lol ) not tough and it juicy. Shrimp tacos were good as well but more sweet than spicy. Loved the ambiance of the place and professional and kindness. I recommend it and I’ll be back. Oh and i just got a corona so no drink review...

This place is incredible. We pick up from here often and the food never disappoints. Get the Chicken enchiladas with mole sauce - it’s the best mole I’ve ever had. My partner raves about the 3 meat fajitas. We always call to order (because we noticed that the menu online is slightly different than what we’ve seen dining in person ) and foods always ready within 15-20 minutes. Perfect for a late night order or quick bite - even better served piping hot when dining in...
