Somewhat disappointing, eventhough the appetizer started off with a great flovor. I ordered the seafood pasta special. The waitress asked u do wanted red or white. I specifically asked for the red. I received it with white in which it pretty much just tasted of butter.
My fiance ordered the $49 steak medium well. When she cut into the steak it was cooked to rare(Perhaps that's the only way they will prepare it, if so they should specify). The waitress was no where to be seen for about 20 minutes after we received our food.I then heard the couple behind us complaining about how their food was also under cooked. They had to put both of their dishes back on the grill. That's when we decided it would have be best to just leave and never come back.
The waitress did offer to have them cook the steak some more, but who wants to chance some spit in the food. I ended having pretty much all of meal thrown away. Not really worth eating or keeping something that i didnt want in the first place. The waitress then told my fiNce perhaps she should order the steak medium well or medium plus next time. We both stared at eachother as it was ordered medium well. Perhaps that's why I ended up with the wrong sauce?
We ended up paying the bill and still leaving a good tip regardless because I'm not sure who's fault it was for the bad experience(besides the lack if service after receiving the food). I was hoping for a great meal with the great reviews, but just just had a poor dining experience. $140 later after 2 dinner entrees, 1 appetizer and 2...
Read moreWe have been to Malbec a half dozen times now across the past few years, and each time, it's been an incredible experience.
The food is exquisite every time we come. We have had nearly everything on the menu by now and don't have a single complaint or even inconsistency to point out.
The steak in particular is fantastic. I love a good skirt steak, and it's as perfect as you can get it here. Cooked exactly as you ask, just the right amount of salt, and incredibly tender, juicy meat. And the price is great, too - you're not going broke here for amazing food.
The desserts are a treat as well. We just had the crepes on this most recent visit, along with two scoops of dulce de leche ice cream, and it was phenomenal! Everything was so fresh, full of flavor.
Beyond the food, the service is always top notch. Extremely friendly servers who are plenty attentive to your needs. Always there when you need something and happy to answer questions about the menu, the sauces, anything at all. Haven't had a poor experience with anyone here, just great staff every time.
The restaurant has a nice rustic charm to it inside and is not very large, making for both a cozy but sometimes very busy spot. Not a negative for us but some may not love the tighter quarters when they're very busy. Pretty sure the place would fill to the brim no matter the size though, it's that good.
So if you're looking for a great meal, date night, in the mood for steaks, celebrating something - go here! You will...
Read moreArgentinian steakhouse decorated with dark wood panels and artwork to give a rustic feel. Indoor dining was a pleasant experience. Outdoor seating for two (along the sidewalk) seemed to be pleasant during the cool evening. Broad wine selection.
The two servers (Dominic and Francisco) spoke Spanish and English, were quite passionate about the food, and knew the menu well.
Salmon tartare. Highly recommended. A layered stack of fresh greens, chopped avocados and mangos, delicious raw salmon, and rice. The aioli and shoyu sauce added a nice flavor to the dish.
Chorizo sausage and patatas bravas. Chorizo sausage is house made and has a great chunky texture and flavor (recommended). The cubed potatoes were deep fried with sauces in little plastic cups.
The seafood paella came with hearty servings of calamari, clams, mussels, shrimp, and saffron rice. It was piping hot and the acidity from the fresh lemon juice helped to balance the dish.
Parrillada Argentina. Large serving of meats for sharing between two or more people.
Favorites were the skirt steak and grilled angus short ribs. Enjoyed the meat quality and pairing with the Malbec wine.
Sweet bread was thinly sliced and tender with a mild beef flavor. It was highly marbled and I preferred the more well done sections that seared the fat.
The blood sausage was juicy and had a soft consistency that reminded me of a...
