I have been debating whether to write a review about his place or not because it's not really a restaurant or like an exact building, it's a local area that's not available year round. Spruce Street Harbor Park has many perks when it comes to the warm weather months. The food, games, the board walk, yoga, there's even a swing set, craft beer, tacos, nets to sit in, just many many places to chillax and relax or catch up with an old friend or hang out and grab a beer. But it can get a little packed! It's a great tourist spot too, but the food can get a little pricey for the size majority of the time. I recommend the Chickie's and Pete's fries more though!! You won't go wrong with it. It's great area, but it really depends on what you're looking for. Sometimes I'm not trying to be screaming my lungs out to hear the person I'm with because there's obnoxious people around me that can't tone it down. And there can be weirdos from time to time, that being said, it is a really cool place. No public or street parking, and if you find some it's either paid or only two hours in length. The cobblestone road will DEFINITELY mess up your struts so have fun with that; plenty of parking lots, all of which you gotta pay for. Or you can take public transit here or an Uber or Lyft. It really is a decent place, when you have a decent spot with not many obnoxious...
Read moreWe went to an event at Penn's Landing and stumbled across the rest of this area. They had a Summer Fest on the other side which was a neat little carnival. As for the park area, we ended up spending most of the day there. We were on the boat early in the day, got some delicious bahn mis and boba teas from a food truck (happy to find vegan and vegetarian options, especially at food trucks). We rode in some swan peddle boats. The wait was about 30 minutes for a 30 minute ride but was reasonably priced at $8 per person. They had canoes and rowboats too. The park had an arcade which was nice for getting out of the sun for a little. We managed to snag a hammock so got a relax for a little. They had a neat little area for kids with big building blocks. Everyone was a bit rambunctious for our liking so we didn't stick around to see what else was available for the kids but they were having a blast. We thought we explored everything but then on the way out came across a cool art/craft market along the sidewalk. There was art prints, jewelry, handbags, ceramics, and a variety of other handcrafted items. I was supposed to be on my way to work but this park ended up keeping us busy for hours. Very relaxing and enjoyable experience and I'm happy we...
Read moreI really love this place, there is just so much that goes on during both the night and day time. But my personal favorite time to go here is during the night-time. I am not a local to the area and I just with that my state (NH) had something like this near me. There is a place for the kids to do like, lay in the hammocks and walk or run on the side of the harbor. But I will tell you that if you go at night the lights are beautiful with the lights in the little park area and from the bridge. They all just mix together perfectly, but its not always better to go in the day time. You all could go look at the museum about the area, go on a cheapish paddle boats that are for two people and are shaped like swans. Also there is just a lot more food options to have in the day time versus the night-time. But I do highly recommend this place for all ages to come and walk on the side of the harbor during the day...
